Since I was young, having an unattractive side profile was a major complex for me. My chin looked protruded, so my overall impression was rough, and even taking photos was stressful. I also felt unnecessarily self-conscious when sitting next to people. So I eventually decided to have surgery. I chose the hospital based first and foremost on safety. Yigu Oral Surgery was the one I decided on because the director's career, spotless record, and the hospital system all felt trustworthy! Right after surgery, I remember waking up from anesthesia with no sense of what was going on and struggling so much to resist sleeping. My face also felt like it was throbbing all over, similar to when braces are tightened. During the first week, swelling and nasal congestion made it hard to breathe, and I could not sleep properly, so it was quite hard. Still, after 1 to 2 weeks, once the stitches were removed and I could brush my teeth, I felt so much better, and as I ate porridge and similar foods I could feel myself gradually recovering. Around the third week, the ear fullness feeling disappeared, and I could open my mouth more and more, so daily life became much easier. After one month, the swelling had gone down a lot and even smiling felt natural. Opening my mouth became easier too, so eating was much smoother. Around the third month, I could eat almost everything, and taking photos or seeing my side profile was clearly much less stressful, so I think my satisfaction really grew from then on haha. And now it is the 9-month mark! At this point, it hardly looks like I had surgery at all haha. The scar inside my mouth has also faded a lot, and the sensation around my cheekbones has mostly returned, so there is no discomfort in daily life at all. Chewing feels completely natural, I can open my jaw well, and my bite is stable and good. Most of all, the best thing is that taking photos is no longer stressful at all haha. In fact, I sometimes get told I look pretty, so I have been feeling good. Before, I used to shrink back because I was so self-conscious about my side profile, but that has mostly gone away now. The recovery process was not easy, but I think I was able to hold on because I could feel things getting better little by little over time. Right now, I am extremely satisfied with the result, and I think it is even better because it settled in so naturally haha.
