Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

I agonized for 5 years before getting double-jaw + contouring, but now I'm really satisfied

I had double-jaw surgery and contouring surgery together at [Clinic A] with Director Shin Hee-jin. I struggled for a long time while trying almost every treatment available for my TMJ problem, and at my first consultation 5 years ago I was told that double-jaw surgery with IVRO might improve my TMJ, but because they said the odds were fifty-fifty, I could not make the decision easily and kept putting it off. I kept agonizing like that and time just flew by, and in the end the pain became too hard to bear any longer, so I decided to have surgery, prioritizing functional improvement. Still, since it was a surgery I would only do once, I also wanted to improve the appearance at the same time, so I had contouring surgery as well~! Now, 8 months later, it feels less like I had surgery and more like this face has always been my face. At first, every time I looked in the mirror it felt unfamiliar and awkward, but now I've adapted so naturally that I barely remember my old face haha. My sensation has not fully returned yet, but it does not interfere much with daily life, and eating is now comfortable enough that I do not really have to worry about it anymore. Even hard or chewy foods are manageable without much trouble, so I definitely feel the functional side has improved^^ My pronunciation has also stabilized a lot compared with the beginning, so in everyday conversation it is not noticeable at all, and it only feels a little awkward when I talk for a long time or speak quickly. I think that will become even more natural with time. The appearance change is the part I feel most strongly: my face line overall feels softer and more refined, so I hear a lot that I look better. It is really more comfortable to not have to worry so much about angles when taking photos!! The biggest good thing is definitely confidence. In the past, there were so many things that bothered me in photos or when meeting people, but now that stress has dropped a lot, everyday life itself feels much easier haha. Overall, at the 8-month mark it feels like both functionally and aesthetically everything has settled in stably and adaptation is almost complete, and for anyone considering double-jaw surgery or double-jaw plus contouring, I want to say clearly that once you get through the early recovery period, things gradually become more comfortable and satisfaction goes up! Everyone, fighting~!
