Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

9-month double-jaw surgery review—from my wedding to honeymoon, I enjoy taking photos again!!!

Since high school, I had been concerned about my long chin and profile, and had been deliberating over my appearance. Especially as I thought about having to stand in front of many people at my wedding, my concerns about my facial shape grew, and about nine months before the wedding I decided to undergo double-jaw surgery. It has now been nine months since I had double-jaw surgery with Dr. Kim Jong-yoon at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and after safely completing the wedding I had been waiting for most, I am now enjoying my honeymoon. Before surgery, my biggest concern when thinking about the wedding and wedding photos was my facial shape, but on the actual day I heard many people say that my dress suited my facial line, which made me very happy. At nine months, most of the residual swelling has subsided, and my facial line seems to have settled much more naturally and smoothly. I used to be very conscious of finding an angle that would not emphasize my long chin in photos, and felt uncomfortable having my profile photographed, but those worries have greatly decreased. I am feeling the change even more during my honeymoon. In the past, I would have worried about the angle every time I looked at the camera, but now my facial line looks natural from any direction, so I enjoy taking photos itself. I often like the unedited originals too, and have been taking many photos throughout the trip. I am also satisfied that as time passes, it looks natural, as if this had always been my face, rather than looking like I had surgery. At first, each day of recovery after surgery with Dr. Kim Jong-yoon at Iyu felt long, but looking back now after nine months, I feel I got through that period well. One of the biggest reasons I decided on surgery was my wedding, and I am truly satisfied that I could preserve the moments I most wanted to remember—from the ceremony to the honeymoon—in photos without the stress of worrying about my facial shape. I feel deciding to have double-jaw surgery while preparing for marriage was a very good choice for me, and I look forward to seeing it settle even more naturally as time goes on.
