It has already been 11 months since I had double-jaw surgery because my malocclusion made me constantly self-conscious about my side profile!!! I cannot believe it is almost a year already; time really flies haha. I had the surgery with Dr. Shin Hee-jin at [Clinic A] Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery ♥ Before surgery, my side profile looked awkward because of the malocclusion, and I felt stressed because I became overly conscious of angles whenever I took photos T_T I decided on surgery because I wanted to regain my confidence! While researching clinics, I looked at many before-and-after review photos. I liked [Clinic A]'s results, and speaking with Dr. Shin made me trust the clinic more. The doctor identified the issues with my facial line and explained the surgical plan systematically, which reassured me. Now, at 11 months, I barely notice the swelling under my chin that used to bother me. As the swelling has gone down, my jawline is gradually more visible and my overall facial line feels much cleaner haha. Since I see my face every day, I do not notice major changes, but whenever friends I have not seen in a while tell me, “It looks like all the swelling is finally gone,” I realize how much time has passed!!! Up to month nine, I noticed my face becoming less round as residual swelling faded; now my face shape feels completely familiar, like my own face. From the side, the areas that bothered me are much more refined, and seeing my jawline more clearly makes taking photos much easier ♥ I have almost no inconvenience in daily life. I can eat hard foods comfortably, and chewing and biting have become natural, so I almost forget I had surgery haha. My facial line is clearly different even though I live much like before, and old photos still surprise me. It feels strange that I will soon reach one year haha. At first I waited for the swelling to go down day by day, but it seems I have reached the stage where I no longer think about it! At 12 months, I will compare my photos before surgery once more and properly see how much I have changed haha ♥✨
