Clinic: B&Bit Eye Clinic in Gangnam Surgery date: Around August 2012 Doctor: Dr. Kim Hee-sun Vision before correction: Approximately 0.5, 0.5 Vision after correction: 1.0, 1.0 to 1.2, 1.2
It has been about 14 years since my surgery in 2012, so my memory is not exact. I went for LASEK right after being discharged from military service. I remember there being quite a difference in price depending on each director's surgical experience, and Dr. Kim Hee-sun had considerable surgical experience.
I lay on the operating table feeling nervous. There was a smell like grilled squid, and the surgery was over quickly. For several days, it felt as though there were grains of sand in my eyes and tears streamed down. I think it took around five days to one week to recover normally.
At the time, my corrected vision was about 1.0 to 1.2. In conclusion, even now, about 14 years later, it remains around 0.9 to 1.2.
The downside is that I developed mild dry eye syndrome. I think this happens to almost everyone who has had LASIK or LASEK. My friends also had it done successfully after I referred them, and they are still living with good vision!
Recommended for: People who dislike wearing glasses; people who do not look good in glasses; people who want clear vision.
Not recommended for: People who would rather wear contact lenses than develop even slight dry eye symptoms.
