Review: rhinoplasty, liposuction for double chin, cheekbones, and nasolabial area, plus muscle plication—all at once

Hi~ It has been 40 days since surgery, so I am going to write a review. I am 162 cm / 50 kg. I have a lot of facial fat, and even when I lose weight, facial fat does not come off easily… My natural nose did not have a strange line, but my bridge and tip were low! My alar tissue was fairly thick too, and I had a bulbous nose. After double-jaw surgery plus two contouring procedures in 2024 (chin tip and square jaw), nasal widening and double-chin sagging became worse. I looked much heavier and broader-faced than my weight, so I decided on surgery. I am someone who has had liposuction, and I am extremely lazy… Researching online and visiting clinics was difficult, so I looked for a hospital where I could have revision eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, and liposuction all at once. Of course, I wanted everything to be done well, but while looking for a hospital, I prioritized rhinoplasty, which has a notorious high revision rate. A friend had surgery at Mind Plastic Surgery, which was on my visit list. Her rhinoplasty seemed like a difficult case (thin skin, almost no bridge, and skin that would not stretch much), but it turned out naturally and well! I also wanted other procedures there, so I went for a consultation. I had rhinoplasty (silicone bridge implant, autologous tissue and ear cartilage, columella lowering, alar reduction, and osteotomy) with Dr. Lee Kang-woo! I wanted to prevent complications and revision as much as possible, so I thought creating a good nasal tip was truly important. I think it is good to set specific criteria for what you want corrected before rhinoplasty. So even if the bridge was raised only modestly, I asked for the tip to be projected as well as possible, rounded, with enough soft-tissue allowance so it would not become tight. Dr. Lee is also known for bulbous-nose correction, and during the consultation I liked that he explained facial asymmetry and the achievable surgical range well. He showed me a simulation in Photoshop on the spot, and it is almost identical to how I look now, 40 days after surgery… And perhaps it is natural because he has worked as a plastic surgeon for a long time, but although rhinoplasty was good, he brought up my biggest issue: the double chin. lol He said that should probably come first… I told him I would only have my nose done by him and have the other procedures with another doctor, all at once. lol His aesthetic sense seems definite. I was disappointed that I could not use septal cartilage because I had had double-jaw surgery before. But I thought autologous costal cartilage would support the tip more strongly and reduce complications, so although it was the most expensive option ^^… I had surgery with autologous costal cartilage. As for the scar… I knew about it before surgery, and having already undergone double-jaw surgery, I had no fear of surgery at all. After surgery, I am truly satisfied. Honestly, after my splint came off, I thought, “Oh… is my bridge a bit lacking? Should I have asked for it higher?” But no… They say you should not be greedy with rhinoplasty, and that was really true! While I was swollen, it felt a bit like I had had something done, yet maybe not… People said, “It looks natural~ But it does not seem very different from before?” Once much of the swelling went down, though, it suited my face perfectly!!! The line is a pretty straight-to-slightly-curved line, and the tip is nicely rounded too! Exactly a refined yet natural look… Now everyone says my rhinoplasty turned out so well, my side profile is very pretty, and that having it done was definitely better… My boyfriend says I have become prettier and likes it; he loves me more… lol I also want to tell everyone here who has had rhinoplasty not to be too impatient: time is the answer. Swelling, go away~~~ Another thing I realized after surgery was something I had not even been aware of. Before surgery, many of my photos showed me tensing my nose and making an expression that narrowed my nostrils. After surgery, I do not make that expression when taking photos… Maybe it had been an unconscious complex, lol. There was a reason he recommended alar reduction and osteotomy too… To say it again, I hope everyone sets clear points they want corrected. I am so satisfied because even things I had not known about improved. A lot of people around me discouraged rhinoplasty, and I thought so much about whether to do it because I hated complications, contracture, and revision so, so, so much. But I think I did well to have surgery with Dr. Lee Kang-woo. I had liposuction (double chin, jawline, nasolabial area, and cheekbones) plus muscle plication with Dr. Jeong Min-gyeong. Before double-jaw surgery, I had a protruding chin and a long chin, so quite a lot was cut during osteotomy; my whole jawline looked like a double chin T_T lol. I also seemed to be developing deep cheek fat, and my nasolabial area bothered me a lot, so I had liposuction there too. I debated cheekbone liposuction. Even during my double-jaw consultation, I was told I had somewhat prominent lateral cheekbones, but that having a little cheekbone prominence gives a more sophisticated image and it was not enough to warrant cheekbone contouring, so I did not have cheekbone contouring then. But my temple area is narrow and my cheekbones seemed somewhat emphasized, so I had surgery to reduce them even a little. They are definitely reduced, yes. Dr. Jeong was great because she pinpointed exactly the necessary procedures and extent. Since my nasolabial folds were not that severe, she assessed them separately from the anterior cheek fat and said she would remove fat carefully so my midface would not look hollow. She also said that because my jaw muscles had already been dissected once during double-jaw surgery, muscle plication would make the double-chin result more definite, so I trusted her and proceeded. Of course, the result is… as you can see in the photos, my jawline has really emerged. The excess chin fat that made me look broader-faced for my weight was completely contoured, and I love no longer having that broad-looking face. My face overall also feels slimmer. It has only been 40 days since surgery, so the area beneath my chin is still a little uneven and swollen, but I was told that the bio-bonding starts to diminish significantly from three months, so I am still diligently managing it with a compression garment and warm compresses. I wrote whatever came to mind, so I do not know whether this is a good review, but anyway, I am extremely, extremely, extremely satisfied with these surgeries… Ask me anything if you are curious~~!
