Nose Surgery Reviews

The importance of midface length; my nose has finally settled! Review of my revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Lee Gyu-ho at O&Young

I do not usually voluntarily write posts anywhere, but my revision rhinoplasty turned out so well this time that it felt too precious to keep to myself, so I came to write a review! I naturally have a long midface, so my nose was long overall and had a dorsal hump. At the consultation for my first surgery, I told the doctor that I wanted a shorter nose, but it seemed they were only focused on raising it without considering facial proportions or length, T_T. After raising it indiscriminately, my nose actually looked longer and gave a much harsher impression than I wanted. On top of that, as time passed, even the nasal tip gradually drooped, making my already long nose stand out even more... T_T. Every time I looked in the mirror or took photos, that area kept catching my eye, so I eventually decided on revision surgery!

There is a somewhat special reason why I decided to have it done by Dr. Lee Gyu-ho at [Clinic A]. I used to work at a hospital for quite a long time (I have since left). The hospital I worked at and Dr. Lee's hospital merged, so I got to see the doctor up close and had the chance to casually share my concerns about my nose. The doctor looked at my nose and immediately said, “This is the area we need to address,” then lightly held the tip of my nose with a hand. What truly surprised me was that, without surgery, that touch alone made my nose look shorter and brought my facial proportions to life! From then on, I paid close attention to the doctor's surgical style, and while working as a staff member, I was able to see the results of people operated on by the doctor from very close up. Naturally, I developed complete trust. So I thought, “If I ever truly have revision surgery later, I will absolutely go to this doctor.” After leaving my job, when the time for revision surgery really came, I went straight to Dr. Lee without even considering visiting other places!!

[Clinic A] had only recently settled into its new location, and it was extremely clean and sophisticated! It had none of the hectic, cold feeling commonly found in high-volume clinics; the calm and comfortable atmosphere made me feel much more at ease. I made the appointment and quickly went through with the surgery!!

What was really amazing after this surgery was that after my first surgery, the swelling and bruising had been so severe that my friends could not recognize me. But this time, there was almost no postoperative swelling and hardly any bruising. When I woke up from sedation, I woke up very clearly, without a headache or difficulty! Perhaps because of that, when the splint was removed, there was so little bruising and swelling that I could return to daily life immediately. I am so satisfied that I want to tell everyone around me about it. This is a genuine self-funded review: I paid for the surgery myself 100%, and received absolutely no compensation from the clinic! When I was looking into revision surgery, there were so many advertisements that it was really difficult to find real information. I picked up the keyboard in hopes that this may help people deliberating like I was, even a little!

Personally, the doctor does not advertise much... and I even feel it is a shame that the doctor seems too hidden compared with their skill, T_T. They are not the type to push excessive procedures or use sales tactics at all, and they are extremely honest about what is necessary and what is not! Now my overall facial balance is so harmonious; it looks very natural from the front, while the line looks beautifully refined from the side. Since surgery, I have been hearing so often that I look pretty, and I am happy every time I look in the mirror these days >< Of course, everyone's nasal conditions differ, so my result cannot be identical for everyone, but I hope my experience can serve as even a small reference for people whose first surgery went wrong and who are deliberating over revision surgery. ❤️
