This surgery was already my fifth nose revision. I never expected to undergo surgery this many times, but after each previous surgery, I kept noticing things I wished were different whenever I looked, so I ended up looking into another one again. My biggest concern was that my nasal bridge was relatively low while only my nasal tip looked too high, making the tip look like it protruded on its own like Pinocchio's nose from the side. My columella also hung too low, making my nose look long from the front, which was stressful. On top of that, the scar tissue felt severe, so every time I took a photo or looked in the mirror, my nose seemed to be the first thing I noticed T_T.
Honestly, when I said it was my fifth time, many people around me asked whether I really needed to do it again, and I hesitated a lot too T_T. Still, I kept being bothered by the overly high tip, the descended columella, and the scar tissue, so I searched for a clinic again with the mindset that this would be the last time and had it done at Edition Plastic Surgery!
I think this nose revision review may resonate a little with people like me who have had multiple surgeries and still worry about the shape of their nose or scar tissue haha. At the consultation, I wanted to focus on improvement and discuss above all how to reduce the parts of my current nose that looked unnatural. I explained one by one that the nasal tip looked too high, the columella descended and made the nose look long, and the balance between the bridge and tip was off. I also mentioned that the scar tissue made my nose look more blunt. Dr. Han Dae-hee explained an approach of softly balancing the overall line and harmony without overdoing it, which put me at ease :)
At first, I honestly could not distinguish swelling from scar tissue, so I was worried. Since it was a nose that had been operated on many times, I felt particularly sensitive throughout the recovery process, and I became concerned whenever it looked even a little swollen T_T. Still, as time passed, I could see that the tip no longer looked sharply protruding as before and that the columella was settling into a more natural shape, which reassured me! The imbalance used to be severe, but now the line from the bridge through the tip looks much more comfortable T_T.
At the clinic, they first asked whether I had any discomfort during follow-ups and kindly answered even small questions, which I also appreciated! After visiting clinics many times, I came to consider the atmosphere and postoperative care important too. This time, they made me feel comfortable from consultation through follow-up checks, so I felt much more at ease mentally as well~!
It has now been about six months since surgery. If I were to write this nose revision review again at this point, what I am most satisfied with is that my nose no longer feels disconnected from the rest of my face. At first I watched the swelling go down every day, but now it has become so much more natural and there is almost no discomfort! Even when I touch it, the lumpy feeling caused by scar tissue has decreased greatly compared with before, so I feel at ease. The excessively elevated appearance of the tip has lessened, and the nose that looked long from the front also looks far more stable than before haha. Especially after about six months, it looks prettier than before, so I keep staring at the mirror haha. The scar tissue has settled down a lot too, and my overall impression looks less sharp haha.
Because it was my fifth surgery, I was more worried than hopeful, but now I am satisfied enough that the time I spent deliberating does not feel wasted T_T! After multiple surgeries, I think the desire to simply live comfortably this time becomes stronger than the desire for a pretty nose... lol. Writing this nose revision review, I feel that for revision surgery, it is truly more important than greed to accurately assess the current condition of the nose and address what is needed T_T. That is why choosing the clinic is so important!
I have been doing well for six months now without major discomfort, and the time I spend stressed about my nose has clearly decreased compared with before. It was not an easy decision because it was my fifth surgery, but from my perspective as someone who had many concerns about scar tissue and the nasal tip shape, everything improved well, so this surgery feels like the result that gives me the most peace of mind haha.
