Nose Surgery Reviews

Satisfied with my revision rhinoplasty using buttock dermis lol

It has been two weeks since my revision rhinoplasty using buttock dermis! I had my first surgery in 2018, but as time passed, the asymmetry became severe and cartilage show-through appeared at my nasal tip, which was incredibly stressful T_T. Whenever I smiled, I was suddenly afraid the cartilage would protrude white. On a friend's recommendation, I visited Dr. Park Chan-young at XO Plastic Surgery, a solo-practice clinic. I trusted the detailed consultation and extensive experience, so I decided on revision rhinoplasty using ear cartilage plus autologous buttock dermis. I did not want any more revision surgeries, so I asked for an absolutely natural result and for the asymmetry and cartilage show-through to be corrected reliably!! Recovery process Immediately after surgery through day 3: For the first few days, it was uncomfortable to breathe through my nose, and there was a dull, heavy pain at the buttock donor site and the area where ear cartilage was harvested. On days 2 to 3, the yellow bruising and facial swelling peaked, and I was a little anxious about whether I would look human again. Day 7 (taping and columellar suture removal): On the seventh day, I went to the clinic, had the nasal packing removed, took off the suffocating tape, and had the columellar stitches removed! Once the packing and tape were removed, breathing became easier and I felt alive again. Some small bruising and swelling remained, but the contour had settled much better than expected, so I went straight to meet friends that evening. No one knew it had only been a week since surgery, which amazed me. Day 14 (now): The major swelling and yellow bruising have almost completely gone! My nasal tip and the autologous dermis donor site still feel numb and firm when touched, so I am taking care cautiously. I am satisfied so far lol. The nasal tip that used to show sharply when I smiled is now smoothly and naturally covered thanks to the autologous dermis, and the asymmetry visible from the front has also been corrected very neatly! I used to always take selfies at an oblique angle because of my uneven nose, but lately I can take them from the front without feeling awkward, so I feel so relieved every time I look in the mirror ^_^. Since the swelling will decrease further and the graft will be absorbed as the final contour settles due to the nature of autologous dermis, I will diligently use compresses and monitor my progress. Thank you so much to Dr. Park Chan-young for performing such a natural revision exactly as I requested! I will come back with another review at one month lol!
