Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

One Month After Double-Jaw and Contouring Surgery, and My Facial Line Is Already Showing lol—Am I Just Made for Plastic Surgery?

Hello. I wrote the title like that, but I actually had double-jaw surgery with Dr. Heejin Shin at [Clinic A] because of functional issues, and it has now been exactly about one month. At first, I wondered when a month would pass, but looking back, it went faster than I expected. I had long been self-conscious about my long face and receding chin whenever I saw my profile or took photos. While undergoing orthodontic treatment, I learned that it was not just a dental issue and that the skeletal aspect required surgery, so I deliberated for quite a long time over whether to have double-jaw surgery. Still, I wanted to improve both functional issues such as my bite and the aesthetic aspects, so I ultimately decided to have surgery. Since it was a major operation, I was worried, but I strongly hoped I could live with more confidence afterward. Of course, I researched many hospitals and received consultations at several places. Among them, the consultation at [Clinic A] felt the most detailed and realistic, so I trusted it. They explained my facial skeletal structure and bite condition in an easy-to-understand way and answered each of my questions, which helped me understand the surgical direction. After the consultation, I thought I could trust this place with my surgery, so I ultimately chose it! Around postoperative day 7, the swelling went down a great deal, noticeably even from one day to the next. From then on, the inconveniences in daily life that I felt early on also decreased a lot, which was definitely reassuring. Especially once I could visibly see the swelling going down, I could feel in real time that I was recovering. From the middle of week 1, the swelling decreased day by day, and by week 2 my face had become quite natural!! haha The facial bone contours hidden by swelling also gradually began to show, and discomfort in daily life had decreased to almost none. At first after double-jaw and contouring surgery, the changes were hard to see because of swelling, but once the lines started to show little by little, I personally felt satisfied by just week 2! By week 3, my cheekbone line and jaw contour also began to show to some extent!! Rather than rapidly going down as in the beginning, the swelling felt like it was naturally decreasing a little every day! My stitches were removed, the range of foods I could eat increased compared with before, and daily life was not especially difficult. As time passed, I felt myself becoming more comfortable one thing at a time, which made me think I was recovering well haha And now, at one month, the swelling is not dropping so dramatically day by day as it did in weeks 1–2, but my face is still gradually becoming more natural, which is fascinating in its own way. In particular, my lower cheeks and jawline are starting to look sharper than before, and that is where I personally notice the biggest change! Even when brushing my teeth now, my jaw no longer feels somehow unstable as it used to; it feels much more solid and supported, so it is far more comfortable! It has only been one month since surgery, so I am still recovering, but daily life has become much easier and my facial contours are increasingly visible. This is my honest one-month review, and so far I am very satisfied.
