I had surgery last Tuesday and today I had all the stitches and the tape that was holding everything in place removed. As you can see from my previous post, I had everything removed after 12 years, and because I was born with a wide nose, I left a small septal support behind and tied up the nose tip. Honestly, I kept crying after the surgery. I felt relieved, but I also felt a sense of loss and anxiety about whether I’d be able to handle how I’d look after the splint was removed, and I even wondered if I had removed it for nothing. But when I saw my nose today, I felt so relieved, and I realized my nose wasn’t as unattractive as I’d thought. Of course, once the swelling goes down it’ll drop a lot, but for reference …
