Until I came into this community, I didn’t even know cartilage could be removed. I was so naive, thinking there was nothing I could do, and lived as if I were in a cave. I think there are trends in surgery too. I don’t know exactly what kinds of materials there are, but for a while people used silicone, then at some point autologous cartilage, then dermis.. When something is in full boom, you don’t know what side effects it may have. Everyone had it done around similar times, felt similar discomfort and side effects, and then similarly had cartilage removed. What I’m curious about is whether cartilage removal, especially support strut removal, is safe. Seeing that everyone was removing it made me think I should too. But even if things are okay at first after removal, I haven’t heard experiences about what happens after several years. Looking at recent posts, there are many saying removal went well, so I’m happy as if it were my own case, but I’m also worried that being okay now might just be one stage in the process. Everyone feels like my older sister, my younger sibling, and also like me, and I worry that people like us may go through the same pain again years later.. I sincerely hope we haven’t been deceived by doctors blinded by immediate profit, and I hope removal is truly safe. If anyone knows stories of people around them who had removal a very long time ago and went through it earlier, please tell me. I just want to be comforted by hearing that everyone is okay even after time has passed.
