Hello? I had surgery 2 years ago with 3 mm nasal silicone + ear cartilage. Today I went to the place where I had surgery and had a removal consultation. The reason I want removal is that maybe because it’s winter, the bridge of my nose has been turning bluish.
I also posted about it in the nose-removal specialist consultation section here, and the cause seems to be that the skin on my nasal bridge is thin, so the blood vessels + silicone are showing through.
I went to the hospital, and I got a little angry for two reasons. The doctor who operated on me had left the clinic, and another doctor came in and consulted with me.
1. I thought it was 3 mm, but that doctor said, “They put in 4 mm?” so that’s how I found out I had 4 mm inserted. 2. They said the silicone went all the way to the nasal tip. I was clearly told the nasal bridge was silicone and the nasal tip was ear cartilage... Is it possible to put both silicone and ear cartilage into the nasal tip ...? They talked as if, if it only happens in winter, I could just cover it with makeup and live with it without much problem. So I said, if the skin on my nasal bridge is thin, it will turn blue every winter, and in that case wouldn’t it be better to remove it...? Then they said it would be a shame because I went through trouble to have it put in.
They said if I remove it, removal itself is easy, but my nose could look a little upturned, and I had a hump? a really slight one, and since they shaved that, it could become lower.
But in my opinion, 1. When they say they shave a hump, since they shave the protruding part, that area can look lower, but I don’t think the basic height itself becomes lower. Is that right? 2. They said the nasal tip can be left alone, and that it doesn’t greatly affect the overall volume. Still, I think placing cartilage on top would make some difference, but I’m not sure about that either.
Thinking about removal is making my thoughts complicated. I’m not planning on any other additional procedures and only want simple removal. Should I look into other hospitals too?
