I had facial contouring surgery

I had facial contouring surgery this Monday. I had cheekbone repositioning, long-curve square jaw reduction on both sides, and just a little shaving on the front chin.. At first, I was really scared because of the general anesthesia. What if I didn’t wake up.. So when I had consultations, I think I focused on that part the most. I didn’t even check the aftercare properly lol. I tried to stay as relaxed as possible because they said that way I’d bruise less and swell less, so I went into surgery without thinking much. After getting the sedation injection, I don’t remember anything and slept deeply.. During that time, they must have carefully sculpted my face, right? After surgery, when I came back to the recovery room, I had drainage bags attached and wore an oxygen mask. I think I wore it for about 2 to 2 and a half hours. They said I absolutely must not fall asleep, so I focused hard on breathing. My throat stung and my nose was blocked because, during surgery, they put a tube through the nose to allow breathing, so there was also a nosebleed,, I felt like my face would swell like a rice cake if I lay flat right away, so I breathed as much as possible in a sitting position. The head nurse and the two directors who operated on me stayed with me without leaving work, and they came to check on me in between, so I felt very reassured. I could understand the head nurse doing that, but I didn’t expect even the directors to stay overnight and check on me. From the day before surgery until discharge, I didn’t drink or eat anything, including water. For pain, I think the square jaw surgery hurts more than the cheekbones. I’m not sure about cheekbone pain, but for the square jaw, since I had cortical osteotomy and my front chin shaved, they make incisions inside the mouth and suture everything, and that area swells tightly, so the sutured area hurts the most. My lips have no sensation and swell up like a fish. With the drains and everything, the corners of the mouth get wounded, the lips crack all over, and it’s a mess. Anyone going for surgery, please make sure to bring Vaseline and apply it often. Vaseline is the best!! For swelling, based on having all 3 contouring procedures, even people who don’t usually swell will swell like Dooly. I think I’ll need to watch my swelling for a while too, but when I went to the hospital today for dressing, they said I really wasn’t swollen and praised me, asking if I had been icing diligently. Instead, I got bruises around my eyes like a panda. In the early stage, you really need to ice well and stop the bleeding well to avoid bruising!! Oh, and after surgery, the hospital wraps bandages or stickers? around the cheekbones and jaw, right? Not the compression band. Keep that on for at least about a week. They said if you remove it midway because you want to wash or because it itches, there is a 100% chance of sagging skin. I also got it wet while washing before going to the hospital this morning and took it off, and the director scolded me hahaha. It’s only day 4, so I still can’t eat properly. I just cook porridge and blend it, or put rice in soup and blend that to eat. But even so, as soon as I turn around, I’m hungry.. Since mouthwash is a hassle, I’m gradually eating less and less. But if you want to recover quickly, you have to eat well!! I’m walking for more than an hour, and even at home I don’t stay still and keep doing housework. I’m trying to move as much as possible. Swelling, please go down quickly!! Until this morning I did cold compresses, and from the afternoon I’ve been alternating warm and cold compresses. After using a warm compress, it definitely feels like the tight swelling inside my mouth has loosened a bit? I’m not separately drinking pumpkin juice or things like that. For swelling management medicine, I’m drinking Sindas + Elas-A liquid. I’m trying to take the medicine at the same time as much as possible. Facial contouring surgery really hurts. It really hurts so much. Prepare yourself mentally before doing it. Don’t just look for cheap places; the director’s mindset is the most important.
