It’s exactly been 3 days since I had long-curve square jaw surgery! Before surgery, I worried a lot and was really scared, but now that I’ve actually done it, I feel relieved and all that lol. Because of the swelling, I can’t see my facial line at all yet, but I’m still thinking it’s fortunate that I came back alive and don’t have nerve damage or sensory abnormalities lol. My eyes, nose, and mouth are fine, but I felt like my face shape was such a minus, so it had been a huge stress since I was youngㅠ In college, my friends got double eyelid surgery and became prettier, but I already had double eyelids, and I wanted to become prettier, yet the only surgery I could do was dangerous bone shaving, so it felt so unfair.. seriously ㅜㅜ So I tried Botox too, and it did have an effect, but that also had limits.. So after worrying and worrying, I ended up having surgery this time! It was my first cosmetic surgery, and I was really scared that it involved general anesthesia and also touching the bone. So on the day of surgery, when I arrived at the hospital, I was shakingㅜㅜ But the director designed the line for me and held my hand saying let’s do well, so my nerves eased just a tiny bit. Before going into the operating room, in the inpatient room(?), I saw the anesthesiologist and got a sedative, and then the surgery was over lol.. Seriously, I don’t remember at all walking into the operating room by myself lol. I just vaguely remember the nurse unnies telling me to scoot onto the operating table, but I wasn’t in my right mind then, so I didn’t even know I had gone into the operating room lol. Maybe that’s why I didn’t have any fear of getting onto the operating table?? At that time, being half-asleep from the sedative was really nice.. I heard at other places you’re conscious right up until just before inhaling anesthetic gas ㄷㄷ If it had been like that, I think I would’ve been even more scaredㅠ After surgery, my mom said I came to the inpatient room in a wheelchair, but I don’t remember that either.. lol Maybe it was because the anesthesia hadn’t worn off then. But at some point, suddenly! I became conscious and thought, where am I?? Then a few seconds later, I thought, oh right, today was my surgery day.. and came to my senses.. Just as I was thinking, wow, I came back alive safely, I strongly felt my face tighteningㅠㅠ It felt a bit like someone punching my jaw? lol It wasn’t so painful that I couldn’t bear it, but the numb and uncomfortable feeling was so frustratingㅠㅠ I think it was because the compression bandage was wrapped around and around, with a facial compression garment inside it, and a lot of cotton stuffed inside my mouth.. Still, because I didn’t have a blood drain, I think it felt less suffocating.. The place I went to doesn’t use blood drains.. lol Oh, and I only did square jaw surgery, so I don’t know if it’s because the surgery time was short, but my throat really hurt much less than I expected!! Really just like a sore throat from a cold?? The day right after surgery, my throat didn’t hurt at all lol. I don’t know whether my body suits general anesthesia, whether the surgery time was short, or whether the anesthesiologist is good, but anyway, my throat didn’t hurt!! I think that was really fortunate lol. I had worried before surgery that my throat would hurt..ㅜ I had surgery early in the morning and was discharged around maybe 6 p.m. after they put tape on! By the time I was discharged, I was okay except that my face felt a little stiff lol. So I thought it was a more manageable surgery than I expected.. I don’t know about other things, but if you only do square jaw surgery, I don’t think it’s a surgery with huge pain. The discomfort is much greater than the pain. Before surgery, I thought, I can endure discomfort as long as it doesn’t hurt! But once I actually had surgery, I couldn’t chew food properly, my mouth was so swollen that I couldn’t brush my teeth, I had to gargle often, and I had to wear the facial compression garment, so it was surprisingly stressfulㅠㅠㅠ Still, time will solve this, right??ㅜㅜ And the swelling is totally at its peak on days 2-3 lololol wow seriously, before surgery I had asymmetry, so they removed more muscle on one side and cut more bone too, and one side of my face is seriously a balloon lol.. When I touch it, it feels like a bouncy ball?? lol Ah, I really wish time would pass quicklyㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Every time I look in the mirror, I sighㅜㅜ lol. Still, the hospital provides good aftercare, so I’m going to go often for that. They said they do things like laser, shampoo, pack?, and radiofrequency.. To be honest, the hospital where I had surgery was a bit more expensive than other hospitals, so I’m going to go for aftercare often lol. I don’t regret my hospital choice. I thought as long as the doctor was good at surgery, that was enough, but after the surgery was over, I became anxious about whether the surgery went well, whether this was a side effect, and all sorts of things. But the director kept stopping by to check on me even after surgery, and the anesthesiologist also kept coming to look in on me, and that unexpectedly made me feel reassured.. Also, the nurses were kind lol!! I get my stitches removed next week, and while I want them out quickly, I’m also scared it’ll hurt..ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ Ugh, I’m amazed at myself for having surgery when I’m this much of a scaredy-cat lol. Still, seeing that even someone this timid had surgery safely, everyone can do well too!! For those who are seriously worried about their face shape, I hope you think about it a lot, research a lot, and succeed by having the minimal surgery within a line where you don’t get greedy!
