Removal 1-week review (septal cartilage and silicone removed after 1 year)

- In July 2016, I had surgery at a large hospital near Sinnonhyeon Station using a septal cartilage strut (including the nasal tip), septal extension, and silicone - Because of my dramatically changed impression, hard nasal tip, severe foreign-body sensation, and psychological anxiety, I decided to remove it after 6 months - I heard that the hospital where I had it done at the 6-month mark would remove it for free, so I made an appointment to remove it in summer 2017, at the 1-year mark - What I was told during consultation: they had rasped/shaved my nasal bridge (this had never been mentioned at all before surgery), they had not done many removal surgeries and it would 100% turn up, it would be better not to remove it, I should not live only looking in the mirror, etc. - The surgery was done open, and even after I got on the operating table right before anesthesia, the doctor tried to persuade me not to remove it. But the stress I had received from the surgery until then was bigger, so with the mindset of “if it goes badly, I’ll just die,” I said to remove everything. Now it feels like there is nothing in my nose - For 1 week right after surgery, I stayed only at home because I had a splint on my nose - I won't mention the name of the hospital where I had it done, but the reason I don't recommend it is that the hospital is too big, so the waiting time is strangely long (before surgery they did consultations quickly, but afterward, when I went for progress consultations, the waiting time was long). Even though it was my first plastic surgery, they did not explain things that of course should have been explained, and acted like “that’s just how it is, why don’t you know?” They did not properly explain that my nasal bridge had been shaved or that payment had to be completed on the day of surgery, and it felt like I was being scolded. Also, before surgery, I asked the doctor worriedly, “If I do eyes and nose together, won’t my features look too close together?” and he confidently said, “I don’t operate in a way that would make that happen.” But after all the swelling went down, my face looked almost like the eyes, nose, and mouth were all gathered together. For 6 months I kept hearing, “Why did you get surgery? Your features look too close together,” and I was so disgusted that I got epicanthoplasty reconstruction at another hospital. Even after that, my aged-looking impression did not return, so I removed my nose implants too. After investing a total of about 5 million won including the epicanthoplasty reconstruction fee, all I gained was a shaved nasal bridge and unnatural inner corners of the eyes - I received a lot of help from this community in the meantime. I can’t upload photos, but I’ll diligently post explanations I can give in words My nose did not turn up. Maybe it’s because the contracture period hasn’t come yet lol. My nose definitely got lower, and my original nose was already low, but maybe because they even shaved it, it’s even lower. When the hospital first mentioned that it had been shaved, they said, in a tone meant to reassure me, that they had really shaved only a little. But when I touch it, even if it’s not quite shaped like ], I can feel it shaved to about the level of }. lol I can feel the angular edges. I don’t know exactly how much they shaved, but it definitely doesn’t seem like they only shaved a little lol. Anyway, after removing it, I feel relieved. Even if it’s low, this feels like the nose that suits me. I’ll have to keep watching it more going forward, but so far I have no regrets, and I’ll keep posting updates as much as I can.
