It has been one month since I had hump-nose surgery without an implant at [Clinic A]! I’m very timid, so I was worried even while lying on the operating table, but perhaps because the surgery was done without osteotomy, only my nose was slightly swollen and the rest of my face did not swell much. During the first week, the increased nasal discharge was difficult, whether it was running or blocked. I couldn’t taste food, and when the skin touched the sutures at the columella it stung, so at first I could barely brush my teeth because I was scared. To minimize swelling, I sat or stood all day. I also tried sleeping sitting up, but couldn’t fall asleep, so I raised my usual pillow with a neck pillow underneath. When the splint was removed after a week, I felt like I could finally live again, but there was still bruising where the hump was removed, and the tip was hard and higher than I had wanted. For faster recovery, I went on walks and had pumpkin juice, swelling tea, supplements, and so on. Chuseok was two weeks after surgery, so I was very worried, but even my parents didn’t notice that I had surgery! Haha. There was so little swelling, and only the flaws were covered just as I wanted, so I was satisfied. Before surgery, I was self-conscious about my profile and tried to face people straight on whenever someone looked at me from the side. Now I’m so happy that I no longer worry about it! I never took profile photos before, but I took lots of them on my trip this time! Haha. I was told it takes about six months for the tip to drop a little and become softer, so I’m looking forward to the future!
