<Current condition> I started orthodontic treatment around my mid-20s, and maybe because I started late, my gums became weaker than before and I developed chronic periodontitis. Especially my nasolabial folds.. Even before braces, my teeth weren’t so bad that people couldn’t look at them, but because of the Yuna Kim orthodontics trend, all my friends around me were doing it, so I followed along too. But I only ended up with the side effects I mentioned above, and because it felt like a waste after spending money on it, I’ve been wearing my retainer until now, 5 years after finishing treatment. Even though I wore my retainer every day, my teeth still developed gaps, but the clinic only tightens the retainer, saying it’s important to keep them from spreading as much as possible.. It is nice that my teeth look even when I smile, but if they’re not really unbearable to look at, don’t do it. I don’t recommend it.
