45-day review after double-jaw and facial contouring surgery

I underwent double-jaw and V-line surgery using the SSRO method. Before surgery, my bite was close to a Class II malocclusion caused by maxillary protrusion, and I had undergone extraction orthodontics once as a child. I don’t remember clearly, but in my case, the improvement in the protruding gum bone seemed minimal. Daily life was not a problem, but for a long time, even when I opened my mouth only slightly to speak, too much gum showed, and I felt uncomfortable because my upper lip rolled inward when I talked or smiled. After becoming an adult and reaching my late 20s, my cheek fat decreased and I became more concerned about my side profile. Since I felt orthodontics would have limits this time, I began looking into surgery. I chose Yangyundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery because, during the consultation, they accurately identified what needed the most improvement in my current appearance, and their before-and-after side-profile photos looked attractive without seeming excessive. I felt they could improve my concerns well. Immediately after surgery, as in other people’s reviews, I struggled with swelling, heat, nasal congestion, throbbing tenderness, and pressure pain. Still, while I was hospitalized, the staff checked my condition and suctioned me whenever they had time, so I got through the stay safely. In my case, the nasal congestion almost disappeared after a large scab came out after discharge. Around weeks 3–4, the uncomfortable tenderness eased, and I think I began to feel that life was becoming manageable. Now, about a month after surgery, residual swelling remains from the midface to the lower face. I noticed immediately after surgery that my gummy smile had improved a lot. I hope the remaining swelling goes down quickly. I still have a dull sensation around the lower jaw and occasional tingling like a nerve being pricked when I touch it. I plan to wait, believing this is part of the recovery process. I also started orthodontic treatment recently, and I hope that finishes safely too.
