I found out about Sella Plastic Surgery after watching YoongDoc TV on YouTube, and I went to see the director because of the phrase saying he is a master of eye surgery.
I’m a man, and my eyelids cover about half of my eyes. I also have a habit of always opening my eyes using my forehead muscles, so even though I’m only in my early 30s, I already have deep forehead wrinkles.. After listening to my concerns, the director suggested creating a more open-looking eye shape with incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction. This was the same opinion I had received from the other 4 plastic surgery clinics I visited, so it felt consistent. More than anything, the director kindly explained all the questions I asked using photo materials and drawings. It was very comfortable, the complete opposite of the rushed feeling I had during consultations at some other factory-style plastic surgery clinics.
I’ve had consultations at a total of 5 places so far, and for now I’ve narrowed it down to about 2. To list a few reasons why I’m drawn to Sella Plastic Surgery,
1. The director has over 20 years of experience and seems very confident in surgery. In particular, regarding ptosis correction, he said most other plastic surgery clinics only shorten the levator palpebrae superioris muscle, but he uses a more upgraded method by operating on the Müller’s muscle as well, so that the eyes can open and close comfortably.
2. There aren’t many before-and-after photos or reviews on the website, but when I look at the cases posted on YouTube, the eyes are consistently well matched in symmetry, and especially the line extends thinly and evenly all the way toward the front, which seems like the eye shape I consider most ideal. The line also isn’t too low or too high, and I like that it has a clear but not greasy look, showing just very slightly.
To list a few downsides that aren’t exactly downsides, 1. Maybe because the director is busy, I had to wait a few more days than at other hospitals to make a consultation reservation and schedule surgery. 2. The cost is the highest among the 5 plastic surgery clinics I inquired at.. It’s about 700,000 to 1,500,000 KRW more expensive. I think it’s because the director has confidence in his experience and skills.
