Appointment at 9:45. I arrived around 9:30, changed clothes, washed my face, signed the consent form with the coordinator, and saw the doctor. After signing the consent form about possible situations and gargling, I went into the operating room. Two nurses were extremely kind. They inserted the IV needle and did a test before anesthesia, and it genuinely did not hurt at all. I am very afraid and really hate needles, but wow, it did not hurt even a little. Then the doctor came in, I briefly fell asleep, and felt like the surgery was being performed. Maybe because the sedative had taken effect, I felt at ease. I could also tell that the doctor was working very carefully. I went into the operating room around 10:05 and think I came out to the recovery room around 12:25. Even though today is only day two, I have not swollen at all, strangely enough. There is only a slight bruise around my eye. Breathing only through my mouth makes my throat hurt so much but other than that, it is okay My nose is so low, so that is my biggest worry. They said there was no inflammation, and apparently the ear cartilage was sitting well in place. If I had known it would be like this, I might have considered leaving the ear cartilage and removing only the silicone, but there is nothing I can do now....
