Because I was overseas, it took me longer than expected to decide on nose surgery. It was hard to look into hospitals in Korea directly, so I searched online a lot and carefully looked at reviews and surgical cases, comparing hospitals that specialized in nose surgery. After narrowing it down to a few and getting consultations in person, I chose O&Young Plastic Surgery.
The first thing I felt when I visited in person was that the hospital atmosphere was calmer and quieter than I had expected. It didn’t feel like a typical factory-like plastic surgery clinic where the place is huge and people are constantly coming and going, so I actually felt more at ease.
Even during the consultation, I liked that everything didn’t feel rushed or chaotic. All of the reception staff responded kindly, and from the perspective of a first-time visitor, I felt they took good care to make sure there was nothing uncomfortable or awkward.
The consultation with the director was also impressive. I started by telling him the nose shape I wanted, but instead of simply raising it exactly as I wanted, he explained what direction would suit me better by looking at my current nose shape and the overall proportions of my face. He pointed out things I hadn’t understood well and explained why that approach would be better, so it was easy to understand.
Personally, I wanted a nose that looked natural and suited my face rather than one that looked too obvious, and I was able to talk about that in detail during the consultation too. I especially liked the process of hearing my opinion about what feeling I wanted after surgery and adjusting the direction together.
Since I had searched through so many hospitals and made a careful decision, I didn’t expect to decide immediately after the consultation. But once I actually had the consultation, I found that the things I considered important matched well, so I decided to have the surgery at O&Young.
I had spent time looking into many hospitals from overseas, so I had a lot of worries about choosing one. But after coming in person and getting the consultation, I felt I had made a good choice. Now the surgery is coming up, and I hope it goes as calmly and smoothly as the consultation did, and that I end up with a nose that naturally suits my face. : )
