Because I was overseas, it took me longer than expected to decide on nose surgery. Since it was hard to look into hospitals in Korea directly, I searched online a lot and carefully looked through reviews and surgery cases, comparing hospitals that specialize in nose surgery. After narrowing it down to a few places and getting consultations in person, I ended up choosing O&Young Plastic Surgery. What I felt first when I visited in person was that the hospital atmosphere was calmer and quieter than I had expected. It didn’t feel like a typical factory-style plastic surgery clinic with a big scale and people constantly coming and going, so I actually felt more at ease. Even during the consultation, I liked that everything didn’t feel chaotic overall. All of the reception staff responded kindly, and as a first-time visitor, I felt they took good care of me so there was nothing uncomfortable or awkward. The consultation with the director was also impressive. I started by telling them the nose shape I wanted, but rather than just making it higher exactly the way I wanted, they explained what direction would suit me better while looking at my current nose shape and my overall facial proportions. They pointed out things I hadn’t fully understood and explained why that approach would be better, so it was easy to understand. Personally, I wanted a nose that looked natural and suited my face rather than one that looked too obvious, and I was able to talk enough about that during the consultation too. In particular, I liked the process of listening to my opinion about the feeling I wanted after surgery and then adjusting the direction together. Since I had already looked into many hospitals and made my decision carefully, I wasn’t planning to decide right away after the consultation, but once I actually had the consultation, the things I considered important matched well, so I decided to have the surgery at O&Young. I had spent time overseas looking into many hospitals, so I had a lot of deliberation about choosing one, but after coming in person and consulting, I felt I had made a good choice. I’m now about to have the surgery, and I hope it goes as calmly and well as the consultation did, and that I end up with a nose that naturally suits my face. :)
