Hello.2010. I consulted at a well-known hospital in Gangnam and decided to have surgery right away (I naively thought it would just go well..) hump nose removal + septal cartilage use + Gore-Tex on the nasal bridge + ear cartilage for the tip --> The hump was removed, but I developed a deviated septum. A nose that was crooked both inward and outward.
My nasal bridge was originally high, but after placing Gore-Tex, the area between the eyebrows became extremely, extremely high.
The ear cartilage at the tip showed through. --> It ended up being a crooked but high and long nose... (like Pinocchio)
--> When I said my nose seemed crooked, the doctor said, "It doesn't interfere with breathing, does it?"... sigh...
--> I lived wearing thick-rimmed glasses to cover it up.. 2018. I wanted to remove the Gore-Tex so badly that after consultations at 8 hospitals, I had it removed at the hospital that specializes in removal. Purpose: Remove the Gore-Tex and correct the crooked nose Consultation: I was told the septum was crooked and that autologous rib cartilage or donor rib cartilage would likely need to be used, but I did not want to put anything else into my nose again, so I رفضed. I understood that the crooked-nose improvement might not reach 100%, and decided to have surgery in a way that would make it look as straight as possible from the outside. Result: The Gore-Tex and the ear cartilage at the tip were removed well, and it looked less crooked. The columellar strut was also removed. I think they did some sort of nasal tip cartilage rearrangement or cartilage tying. I was satisfied with the surgery. I was satisfied with the hospital too.2026. Since the fundamental crookedness was not corrected, as time passed I feel like the crooked nose has become a little similar to how it was before. (The main goal of the second surgery was actually removing the Gore-Tex, so I still have a good impression of the second hospital. I'm planning to go for a consultation again.) I went to an ENT clinic, got a CT scan, and after consultation they said it seemed like I would need surgery at a university hospital with joint treatment by ENT and plastic surgery. They said it was a difficult nose. Then I went to a neighborhood plastic surgery clinic for a consultation, and they said that if I wanted to fundamentally fix the crooked nose, the only options were autologous rib cartilage or donor rib cartilage, so I should decide whether to keep living as is or use autologous rib cartilage, and then go to a nose specialty hospital in Seoul for surgery. They advised against ENT. For now, I feel unsettled, so I’m thinking of going to two or three hospitals in Seoul for consultations first, but it’s not easy because I’m raising children and I don’t live in Seoul..My goal is to improve the crooked nose. My ideal look is a very, very natural nose.. It doesn’t need to be high either.. A nose that doesn’t stand out on the face;;Has anyone had surgery for a crooked nose with a deviated septum + autologous rib cartilage? I’d also like hospital information..I’m a little worried because I read that autologous rib cartilage feels very foreign and is heavy..Has anyone had surgery at a university hospital? Can you see before-and-after photos at a university hospital? Please share lots and lots of advice or information...I want this to be my last nose surgery..----------------Additional detailsMy nose is this crooked, but I live wearing glasses. Looking at it now, the tip does look somewhat similar to my natural nose, but the left and right sides are different. During the first surgery, the columella came down too round and too much, so I think they removed the support and did cartilage rearrangement instead of support. Would this be considered very crooked..? It doesn't interfere with breathing, but is it something I can get by covering with glasses? My kids are 2 and 4, so I pick them up every day. If I get autologous rib cartilage, will I not be able to lift them?;; I’ve had two C-sections. Would autologous rib cartilage surgery hurt more? Would it be better to wait until the kids are older because they keep headbutting me, or is this to the point where I don’t need to do it? Whenever we take family photos, all I can see is my nose. Because it’s a long nose, it also kind of looks like a man’s nose. I’ll remove the photos after a few hours..
