Posting my post-op review about square jaw reduction surgery after about 1 year. First of all, I went for a consultation because of the low surgery fee + private clinic + the director's long career. During the consultation, the director expressed his own opinion a lot rather than asking the patient's opinion, and just said he would make it pretty well. After the consultation I had some doubts, but it was a hassle to go around looking elsewhere and I didn’t have time, so I carelessly thought he probably had the skill to match his experience and went into the operating room. I wanted muscle reduction, but because I had gotten Botox at the time, he said I couldn’t do it, so only the behind-the-ear reduction + cortical ostectomy were performed. When I went into the operating room, fell asleep under sedation anesthesia, and woke up, there was no pain, and after 2 hours I had a drain and went home to rest. After that, it wasn’t the surgical site that hurt, but I couldn’t wash my hair, so I felt gross, and the dangling drain bothered me, so sleeping was tiring. On day 3, I told the hospital that I couldn’t stick my tongue all the way out. On day 6, I came back to the hospital, removed the compression bandage wrapped around my face, learned how to use the stretching band recommended by the hospital, and worked hard on it at home. My tongue gradually went back to normal, but when I press the jaw area where the cortical ostectomy was done, it feels a little cold, like a nerve is there. It doesn’t hurt. Even now, 1 year later, it’s still like that, but the sensation is gradually getting weaker. Even if it doesn’t disappear completely, it’s not bothersome Anyway, I’m satisfied with the surgery result and it’s a natural look rather than an overly doll-like line. If the scar behind the ear bothers you, that’s a downside, but as aftercare they gave scar tissue injections, so it became a little calmer. It’s a satisfying result for the price, and if the scar behind the ear doesn’t bother you, I recommend it.
