My eye height seemed fine, but the width was especially short, so I had lateral canthoplasty. If both the height and width had been short, my eyes might have looked small but not strange; since only the width was short, they looked more closed-in. After the procedure, the height stayed the same while the width increased, and the closed-in look disappeared. I heard that if too much sclera is visible, the eyes can look protruding or the eye shape can look sharp, but mine were opened appropriately without that. I am satisfied because I think the surgery made my eyes longer while staying within the limit where my overall impression would not change too much. I wanted to improve the part I wanted with as little surgery as possible, but while everyone else recommended doing various procedures, [Clinic A] said lateral canthoplasty alone would be enough. There were more people than I expected when I entered the clinic, and there was also a booklet in the lobby where I could view reviews all at once. Since it is a private clinic, I thought the director must have done all of them personally, which gave me trust even before the consultation. During the consultation, they said men usually prefer increasing the horizontal eye width and asked whether I was the same. When I said yes, they said they would open the outer corners moderately so that there would be no side effects. They explained in detail the surgical method, how I might look before and after surgery, what the clinic would provide afterward, and when I should come in for follow-up visits. They said I could come for follow-up anytime, but after my stitches were removed, the swelling went down well and I thought the shape was fine, so I only went at the one-month mark and did not return. Still, it has remained stable without any problems for six months now. I had been worried that it might reattach after the shape settled, but I do not even worry about that anymore. Personally, it was the cosmetic procedure I am most satisfied with.
