I got it in early 2019 so I don’t remember exactly. It was my first surgery as an adult, so I went to the consultation with my mom, and since my mom and I wanted different things, it must have been difficult for them. They clearly said no when something couldn’t be done. I wanted silicone inserted so the bulbous nose could definitely be corrected, but my mom absolutely refused silicone. The director persuaded my mom, and we decided on 3 or 4 mm of silicone. But when I went for the follow-up after surgery, the director said they thought it would still look pretty without silicone, so they left it out. Back then I was like, huh, and felt disappointed, but now I think it was good that they didn’t put it in. My bulbous nose wasn’t completely corrected, but compared with old photos it’s really changed a lot. Of course, I’m disappointed they didn’t reduce the alar base... I went to another hospital later just to get alar reduction separately. Because they didn’t put in silicone, I worry much less about contracture and it looks natural, so I think it turned out well.
