In the second half of 2017, I had septal deviation surgery covered by insurance, then had surgery on the tip of my nose and the dorsal hump. During the consultation, the doctor was kind, and the director was kind too, but it felt very obvious that she was trying hard to get the consult to proceed with surgery. The surgery itself went well, and there are no functional or cosmetic side effects. They said they placed something like a thin membrane over the bridge of the nose without inserting silicone. It was not autologous dermis, and I can’t really remember what it was called. My surgery at this hospital ended well, and this is not a problem unique to this hospital, but wherever you go, rhinoplasty is highly likely to make the nose look longer and the midface look somewhat longer too, so if you dislike that, decide carefully.
