I had functional and cosmetic surgery together about 2 years ago. Right from the beginning, there was a bump protruding from my nostril, and when I asked about it during a follow-up check, I was told to just watch it because of swelling, but even as time passed it stayed the same. After going around to other places for revision surgery consultations, I found out the extended septum was completely bent, which is why it was bulging out. For about 6 months the nasal tip looked okay, but then the tip gradually dropped, and once the swelling went down the crookedness became way too obvious. They said they would use donated dermis because it might show through, but I don't know whether they actually used it or not, because I can see the cartilage showing through. They also said they would do osteotomy, but a CT scan showed that no osteotomy had been done lol During the consultation, they never said both ears' cartilage would be used, but on the day of surgery both ears' cartilage was listed as used, and after consulting other clinics, I was told there was no cartilage left that could be used, so from the second revision surgery onward I'd have to use autologous costal cartilage haha Thanks to that, it looks like the revision surgery alone will cost even more.
