In the end, I got a surgery that didn’t suit my nose. Before surgery, my nose was a straight nose with a high bridge when seen from the side, and on CT there was a slight hump. The problem was the front view: the nasal bone, alar base, and nostrils were all wide. I looked around at many places and read countless reviews, but I guess my impatience was greater than my budget, so I chose the hospital because of the cost. During the consultation, I strongly requested that the size of my large nose be reduced, that the side profile be left alone as much as possible, and if it had to be touched, that it be kept to a minimum...ㅠㅠ I’m not sure whether the osteotomy wasn’t done well, but the shape and size of my nose stayed just as wide and large as before (in fact, from the front the nose became longer). I also asked for alar reduction because another hospital had said I didn’t need it, but I wondered if it might affect the overall size of the nose. All that’s left is a scar that gets deeper over the years, and the shape and size of the alar base are still the same.. Also, they said that if the tip is raised, the nose can look shorter in proportion, so they reinforced the tip, but it was designed in a way that completely ignored the balance and harmony of my face, so from the side it was sharp as expected since it had been raised, but it didn’t suit my face and looked so big and unnatural that you could only see the nose. The biggest problem is that there was no consideration of the overall line connecting the bridge, nasal root, nasolabial angle, and philtrum. Looking at it, it feels like they just propped up the nose. If the bridge, nasolabial angle, and alar shape were far outside average size, there might not be a problem, but mine wasn’t like that. In my case, the alar base, nasolabial angle, and nasal bone size stayed the same, and only the height increased. Even if it was going to look unnatural, I wanted them to at least reduce the size properly, but it became exactly the state I was most afraid of: the nose kept its shape, and only the height increased.. My nose or my requests may have been difficult to handle, but if so, I wish they had explained as an expert what could and couldn’t change... It’s disappointing.
