Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

Revision surgery > Review of my rhinoplasty revision, thinking it would be the last one

Before <after surgery> after after after - pre-op condition Around age 17, at a strange local plastic surgery clinic my aunt told me about, I had my nasal bridge raised with a straight silicone implant through a closed approach, and my nasal tip was not touched at all. The starting point of my nose was too high, and because the tip wasn’t done, my nose looked long. The silicone showed through + it was deviated to the right, so I was extremely stressedㅠ The reason I didn’t get revision surgery for 10 years was that during my first surgery I had local anesthesia, and that memory was so scary that I don’t think I could gather the courageㅠㅠ I’m so fearful that people ask if I have health anxiety ㅋㅋ큐ㅠㅠ Still, I’m getting married early next year and wanted my photos to come out pretty, so I made up my mind and decided.

-Consultation shopping I started consultations thinking this really had to be the last one, so I really went to a lot of placesㅠㅠ ㅋㅇ, ㅊㅁ, ㅊㅇ, ㅇㅇㅂ, ㅈㅇㅌ, ㄷㄴ, ㄹㅂㄹ, ㅈㅇㅈㅇ, ㅇㅇ, ㅍㄹㅇㅂ, etc. [I couldn’t get consultations at ㅇㅇ and ㄹㅂㄹ because the wait was too long] I think I went to every clinic that gets mentioned a lot for rhinoplasty revision. Each doctor used different materials and had different surgical methods, so I agonized over it a lot until right before the surgery.

- The nose I wanted I wanted the starting point lower than now and the nasal tip lifted, but a natural, round, refined nose that didn’t look too obviously surgically altered! Because of that, I focused on clinics known for natural results and filtered out flashy places.

- Surgical method Right before surgery, I had one more consultation with the doctor. He seemed to have firm standards, so he didn’t reflect a lot of what I wanted, but I liked that he clearly said no to what wasn’t possible! Since it wasn’t sedation or general anesthesia, I was so scared that I kept crying even while lying on the operating table, but the people helping with the surgery kept comforting me and played music, so I calmed downㅜㅜ

After removing the existing silicone, they inserted about a 3 mm silicone implant into the nasal bridge, built up the nasal tip with septal cartilage, and used ear cartilage plus autologous dermis from the buttock on top of that! At first, only the cartilage and autologous dermis harvesting were done under sedation, and the rest was local anesthesia (it took almost 5 hours, so enduring it fully conscious was hard..! Still, I do think it seems safe)

- Result Immediately after, I wasn’t swollen, but from the next day I got bruising and swelling, so I was really worried. For about 2 days, I slept sitting up, used a humidifier, and did a lot of cold compresses. Today is day 9 and I had the splint removed, and I like it! I was really worried because they said using dermis could make it look like a bulbous nose, but it was better than I expected! Right now the bruising hasn’t gone down and there’s still swelling, so my nose does look big, but I think it turned out the way I wanted, and should I say the symmetry is good? It seems to hold the center well! It hasn’t been long since the surgery yet, but this clinic doesn’t do any events, so there are only lots of removal reviews and almost no revision surgery reviews, which made me really scared when deciding on surgery! I hope this helps!!
