LOL My natural nose wasn’t that ugly... That was my post-surgery nose..^^ The bridge had completely collapsed, and the tip kept getting wider and bulkier, so among my friends I was known as Anpanman lol Whenever that happened, I laughed it off, but honestly, it wasn’t really funny at all. It’s not like I had it done at some sketchy place either. I went to a fairly well-known clinic in Seoul, and it ended up like that just 2 years after surgery... They wouldn’t even do A/S because more than a year had passed. I was so pissed. After making someone’s nose look like that, honestly, it’s like they had no conscience. For my first surgery, I had a common combination of silicone + septal cartilage + ear cartilage, but I still don’t think I’ve seen anyone whose shape collapsed as much as mine.
First, if I calmly explain the things I wanted to fix: 1. A nasal bridge so low it made me wonder whether I had even had rhinoplasty 2. A bulbous, spread-out nasal tip, but since it had been operated on, only the tip was awkwardly high;;; 3. Getting alar reduction again
But aren’t these basically the things people want fixed during their first surgery? A low bridge, bulbous nose correction lololol
Anyway, for the revision, I had silicone (3 mm) + bulbous nose correction, nasolabial angle correction + alar reduction together. Even with my face covered, don’t I look like a completely different person?? I know some people here don’t like a dramatic image change, but for me, an image change was urgent, so I’m very satisfied. And because of the PTSD from my first surgery, I didn’t want even one thing to go wrong, so I bought an anti-adhesion agent, and it definitely helped during recovery.
I said I had my first surgery at a fairly famous clinic, right? But it failed.. lol So this time, I visited all kinds of places: new clinics, large clinics, private clinics, and small clinics, without ruling any out. I think I went to more than 10 places. I probably spent over 2 months just going to consultations? That’s how much I never wanted to go through this again, and I didn’t want to be stressed about my nose anymore, so I prepared very thoroughly.
To briefly summarize what I generally felt:
New clinics -> Very kind. Seriously, extremely kind. They have relatively many discount events, but the doctors’ experience levels were very hit-or-miss.
Large clinics -> The places people call factory-style. Lots of waiting, chaotic, and the staff usually aren’t extremely friendly. Instead, the prices are lower and there are many discount events. Looking at reviews, some seemed to do surgery pretty well, so if price is the most important thing for you, it may be worth focusing on these.
Private clinics -> Quite a few places had doctors with strong opinions... Among the places I went to, prices were generally the highest, and some had no discount events at all. Instead, they were private, and the consultation time with the doctor was generally long.
Small clinics -> They felt like they had a little bit of the advantages mentioned above mixed together. They were balanced and nothing really bothered me. On the other hand, that also means nothing stood out strongly, but if the doctor is skilled, I would absolutely recommend a small clinic.
Seeing my before photo, you can see why I was shocked and went around to so many consultations, right..?^^ Lesson learned this time: It’s too late once you regret not doing this sooner...
