Nose Surgery Reviews

After surgery for my sunken nose, I’m no longer afraid of taking photos!

My forehead and mouth protrude a bit, but only my nasal bridge was especially low, so from the side my face looked really sunken in I hated and feared having side-profile photos taken more than anything. This time, I made up my mind and got on the operating table to completely crush this complex!

To be honest, other places told me to use only autologous costal cartilage, so I was a bit worried about using silicone. But they explained that something called InnoFit is customized exactly to my nasal structure, so there are fewer side effects and the line comes out much more natural. They said that if the nasal bridge is practically nonexistent like mine, silicone needs to be inserted to create a clearly high nasal bridge, so I decided to trust them and go ahead haha. They actually inserted close to 6 mm, and now it finally feels like my nose has settled into place with my forehead and chin line.

On the day of surgery, I honestly felt really scared because I had surgery for peritonitis when I was young, and as an adult I had never even gone near an operating room lol

They did the eye surgery first, and since it was under local anesthesia, it proceeded while I talked with the director. Because of the anesthesia, everything around me was spinning, and it felt like I was on an amusement ride. It didn’t hurt at all, so I think I just enjoyed that feeling! Most of all, seeing the director personally performing the surgery with my own eyes made me feel relieved because I didn’t have to worry about a proxy surgery.

The nose surgery was under general anesthesia, so I was worried, wondering what if the anesthesia didn’t work, but when I opened my eyes, everything was already finished~

Right after surgery, it didn’t hurt, so I thought it was manageable, but once I got home, the way my mouth kept getting completely dry was really tough. My tonsils tend to swell easily, and because I was breathing through my mouth, I got the worst tonsillitis ever and suffered for a few days

At week 1, after removing the stitches and splint, I washed my face really, really carefully because I was afraid it would hurt if I touched my nose. From week 2, I used cleansing oil to manage sebum a bit too, but because of the sebum that built up while I had the splint on, five or six pimples popped up, and I almost had a mental breakdown lol Thankfully, they’ve all gone down now and it’s clear!

It’s been about 3 weeks now, and the height of my nasal bridge has gone up refreshingly, exactly the way I wanted. The sunken side profile that stressed me out the most is gone, and now that I have a nose, I actually enjoy looking in the mirror these days. For my eyes, I asked for the thinnest possible inner double-eyelid look, and as the swelling goes down, they’re gradually settling in like my own eyes.

There’s still quite a bit of residual swelling, so I’m looking forward to how it’ll look once that goes down!!
