It’s almost been three months since my nose surgery, and I feel anxious about having silicone in my nose. I also feel like only my nose has changed my overall impression in a very artificial way, so I’m thinking about removing the silicone right away after 6 months.
I used donated costal cartilage for the nasal tip, and since my original nose was short, I heard that I also had septal extension surgery.
The stiffness of my nasal tip bothers me, and aesthetically it’s not pretty either (pinched nose, 11-shaped nostrils...), so I was looking into complete removal. But what I didn’t like about my original nose was the nasal tip and nostril area, so I’m really torn between removing only the silicone and lowering the nasal tip cartilage, or doing complete removal...
They say that if your original nose was short and upturned, it can become even more upturned after complete removal. But if I consider revision surgery again, after reading posts in the removal forum, it seems like even without silicone, there’s no guarantee there won’t be problems until the day I die..
Now I should slowly start looking into hospitals properly and making appointments. Assuming I definitely remove the silicone and choose one of these three: nasal tip revision, lowering the cartilage height, or complete removal, would it be better to do it at a hospital specializing in removal, or at a hospital specializing in revision surgery?
