This is my nth revision rhinoplasty, so I visited a looot of clinics in Seomyeon.. I’m hoping so badly that this will be my last surgery
First, my current nose condition is: cartilage showing through at the nasal tip, the nasal bridge looking crooked, a step-off/depression between the nasal bone and nasal dorsum, and a pointed nose shape.
The nose I want is one with no show-through, a rounded nasal tip, and an almost straight-line feel. I also don’t like a tip that projects too far out. I think it’s prettier if it droops slightly downward instead. My aesthetic preference has changed a lot....
The noses I think look natural and pretty are like Lee Chung-ah’s and Kim Yuna’s.
1. ㅅㅍ This is where I had my most recent surgery. They said they removed the silicone here, trimmed and repositioned the cartilage because of the nasal tip show-through, and supplemented the tip with Megaderm. They said they would do an AS revision and only charge the anesthesia fee. But the revision method is to retrim and lift the nasal tip cartilage, then add Megaderm for a slight correction-level improvement, so I’m wondering if that would be almost pointless, and I’m still thinking about it.
2. ㅁㅇ Usually when you go to a plastic surgery clinic, the route is consultation with the consultant -> consultation with the director -> consultation with the consultant, but here I saw the director right away. (I was satisfied with this part.) The director was honest and straightforward during the consultation. When they asked what bothered me most, I mentioned the show-through and depression, and they said they would remove the cartilage placed on the nasal tip and attach ear cartilage on both sides of the septum from the septal support, so the nose shape would become rounded. (At this part, I felt it was a bit different from other clinics.) They said the nasal dorsum step-off would be filled with ear cartilage, and the crooked nose would be operated on with osteotomy. Rather than talking at length, they clearly pointed out and explained only the necessary parts. It felt like they were trying to operate while maintaining the shape as naturally as possible. I think the consultation was about 5? 10 minutes. The cost was much higher compared with other clinics. And they said AS is not available for cosmetic dissatisfaction.
3. ㄹㅇ The director here has a cheerful and straightforward style. They said that for the show-through issue, the nasal tip absolutely has to be lowered, so the height of the septal support has to be adjusted. They told me to go into surgery expecting it to be lowered by at least 2-3 mm. They even drew on my nose during the consultation. But I was worried the shape might look strange if the nasal tip becomes too low. The cost was cheaper than ㅁㅇ. There was zero pressure to book.
4. ㅍㅅㅈ There is a separate consultation fee. There is also a CT fee. (33,000 won total) Unusually, the consultant here was a man. Both the consultant and the director gave loooong consultations. Especially the consultation with the consultant was long... I think it was over almost 30 minutes. They said they would remove the nasal tip cartilage, newly place ear cartilage, and use temporal fascia or ear fascia as needed to improve the show-through. They also said the crooked septal support needs to be straightened. They said osteotomy + shaving down the hump would be needed to correct the crooked nose, but since the hump was already shaved down in a previous surgery, I didn’t want them to touch it further When I said I wanted everything removed, they said if they did that, it could become a long nose or droopy nose, so they could not operate that way. It felt like the director had a very clear style. The director’s aesthetic preference was on the glamorous, polished side. My aesthetic preference is different, so I think I’ll pass. The cost was similar to ㄹㅇ Plastic Surgery.
+ Additionally, I asked if I could receive the CT images, and they said it would cost 110,000 won.. I asked ChatGPT, and it said even if expensive, it should be around 50,000 won, so I gave up on getting them;;; It seemed cheaper to just go somewhere else and get a new scan.
5. ㅇㅇㅇㅋ Here too, I consulted with the director first. They came in urgently after surgery and gave me the consultation. Even though it was a re-consultation, they kindly explained things. They said the septal support should be changed to an ear cartilage support + Megaderm should be added. For the nasal dorsum step-off, rather than filling the sunken area with something, they said that since the nasal dorsum is slightly higher than the nasal bridge, we should slightly lower the dorsum height so it can connect naturally. (I liked this part the most.) And because the nostrils are visible from the front, they suggested lowering the nostril rims and raising the columella. But I liked my nostrils and columella They kept suggesting correction, so that part bothered me. And I’ve heard that if a support is built with ear cartilage, the nasal tip later droops, so I wondered if removing the septal support was really right. But I do think that if I had surgery there, it would look really, really natural. After the director consultation, I had the consultant consultation, and the wording was very strong. They said it was a mistake that I didn’t have surgery here, and when I said I liked the nasal tip shape, they said, “Then go to your previous clinic and get AS. There’s nothing we can do for you here,” honestly(?), so I was a little flustered.
6. ㄴㄹㅇ There is a director consultation fee. (20,000 won) The consultant here didn’t suit me. They kept interrupting me midway, so I felt a bit uncomfortable. The director seemed to have a good personality and a bold, open style. They said that to resolve nasal tip show-through, it would be good to make it show through more broadly to create a dispersing effect, but then wouldn’t it just show through the same way, just over a wider area? So from my perspective, the surgical method felt a little questionable. Also, they said the problem was my eyes rather than my nose, and recommended lower blepharoplasty fat repositioning and double eyelid surgery. The cost was the highest here. (They said an extra fee like a special consultation fee? is added because it’s the head director.)
I went to a few more places besides these, but they were really not it, so I excluded them.
