First Nose Surgery, Autologous Costal Cartilage Rhinoplasty, One-Month Review

I thought about it for years, and finally, as this year began, I got rhinoplasty. The bridge was important too, but for me the nasal tip was more important. The biggest reason I wanted rhinoplasty was that I had a short nose, so my main goal was to make my nostrils show less. So after much thought, even though it was my first nose surgery, I ended up using autologous costal cartilage. (I debated between donor rib cartilage and this, but I thought using my own would feel more reassuring haha) For about 2 weeks, I had aching pain, and I was practically living with a mirror in my hand checking my nose, so time passed really slowly and it was tough. But from week 3, I started getting used to it and gradually felt better, so I think the mentally stressful period is over. (Of course, the area connecting the columella and philtrum still feels tight, I still can’t pick my nose, and it’s hard to blow my nose.. There’s still more minor recovery left!) Oh, and for the surgery, I also had previous filler dissolved and short-nose correction done together! It’s almost been a month now. They say it takes more time for the nasal tip to settle, but it already looks fine to me, so I’m posting it. I hope everyone preparing for nose surgery has amazing results🤍
