Nose Surgery Reviews

Can the nose look shorter from the front after rhinoplasty?

It has now been 10 days since my surgery. I keep trying to control my mindset by telling myself it’s because of swelling, but I feel so anxious that I’m writing a few words to keep a record. I have a long nose / bulbous nose / crooked nose with a fairly defined bridge. I only had the nasal tip operated on using septal cartilage / ear cartilage. I brought in photos of a natural, pretty nose. My current nose condition is: 1. The nose length from the front has become shorter - I don’t know if it’s because of swelling, but from the front, my nose length looks shorter and it looks too upturned. The doctor did say my nose was long, but I didn’t know they would make it this short just because it was long. If the swelling goes down, is it true that the nasal tip and columella will come down together? If so, will the nose length look a bit longer..? 2. No improvement in the bulbous nose - I heard that improving a bulbous nose from the front is difficult, but I’m not sure if that’s really true or if it’s because of swelling. Looking through lots of other reviews, everyone seems to say slightly different things. Does a bulbous nose only improve from the front if the result is made dramatic? 3. The side profile has become too high - The side view has also become so high that it feels suffocating.. Everyone says the nasal tip comes down, but I feel like even if mine comes down, it will still be too high. Then it seems like it would have to keep coming down for years from this state. Honestly, I’m already thinking about revision surgery. After the surgery, I was so scared and had such a hard time that I thought I should never do it again, but I’m so upset. When I read posts from other people struggling because of swelling, I think, “They’re in a similar situation to me, everyone is upset at home too,” and I’m rooting for everyone to turn out well Honestly, when I look at other people’s swelling reviews, they say it’s changing, but when I just look at the photos, I can’t really tell, so my heart feels so frustrated. I wonder if I should have explained my needs to the doctor more precisely, and I feel so frustrated wondering where things went wrong. Right now, I think the only thing I can do is reduce the swelling, so I’m avoiding stimulating foods, taking swelling medication very diligently, and going for walks every day Thank you for listening to my rambling.

Day 10 concerns Shortened nose / tight, swollen nasal alae / high nasal tip

Day 10 hopes Longer nose length / longer columella / smaller nasal alae / nasal tip coming down
