It’s already been 3 months since I had revision rhinoplasty. Since I was getting revision rhinoplasty after 20 years, I had a lot of worries, but Lowell is a private clinic, so I feel like they provide good aftercare, and seeing Director Kim Jae-yoon explain everything kindly and thoroughly made me feel comfortable and trust him. My friend also had successful revision rhinoplasty at Lowell, so that was one of the reasons I had surgery here. I had surgery using donated rib cartilage and ear cartilage.
Honestly, after the surgery, during the first 1–2 months, I didn’t feel at ease even though I looked in the mirror every day. There was still swelling, and the nasal tip felt hard, so I kept thinking, ‘Is this right…?’ Since it was revision surgery, I think I became even more sensitive. But they adjusted the follow-up schedule to fit me, so I felt sorry to Director Kim Jae-yoon and all the staff, but instead they told me it was okay, so I was really grateful.
Oh, and the things I worried about at 1–2 months are definitely different now that it’s been 3 months. Most of the major swelling has gone down, and the side line and front line have settled naturally. It also feels much softer to the touch than at first. People around me don’t say “Did you get your nose done?” but more often say “Why does your face look so much softer?” That was what I liked the most. It doesn’t stand out, and it feels refined in a way that suits my face.
They said this still isn’t the completely final shape, so I’m being careful, but I do think I made the right decision to have revision surgery. Thinking that it will become even more natural as time passes makes me feel much more at ease.
If anyone is considering revision surgery, the recovery period is longer than expected and managing your emotions is also important, but around 3 months, I think there definitely comes a time when you feel, “Ah, now I can finally see it a bit.” I got through this period well, and by 6 months after surgery, it’ll look even more natural, right?!^^ Also, I was able to have surgery for the same price as the app event price, so I think it would be good for those who are considering revision surgery because of financial concerns to have a consultation too.
