I had a consultation at P.R.M today, and I felt quite reassured psychologically. The director, consultant, and staff were all kind and nice... First, they said it wasn’t contracture or inflammation, and they also checked with ultrasound for a material listed in my surgical record that I hadn’t been told about, and confirmed that it isn’t inside my nose. (Such a relief But seriously, why is it written there,,)
For the severe tenderness I’ve been feeling, I’m currently 1 year post-op, but they said the bridge show-through and nasal tip show-through look like what you’d see in someone a little further out from surgery. After looking at photos of my original nose, they said because my nose is small and my skin is thin? even 3 mm silicone was a bit too much for me, so that could be why I’m feeling tenderness. But if I were going to go below 3 mm, it would be better not to do it at all and save the money..
They said the possibility of a saddle nose is that my original nose already had a hump and was slightly saddle-shaped, so it may go down slightly compared with my original nose, but it won’t collapse. They said as for spreading, it will look less spread out and narrower than my original nose. As for a step-off, since my original nose was somewhat saddle-shaped, I guess there will be one.
They said there are no issues shape-wise either, and since it isn’t contracture or inflammation, if I can hold out, it would be better value for the money to wait a bit longer and then remove it.. They said the surgical difficulty isn’t high, cartilage repositioning is included by default, and when they checked with ultrasound, there didn’t seem to be any area that particularly needed reinforcement, so they think total removal and cartilage repositioning should be enough.
