I had about three surgeries at two hospitals using donated dermis and ear cartilage, and I ended up with a crooked nasal bridge (noticeable only under lighting?) and nostril asymmetry (noticeable only when viewed from below?). Because of these issues, I was looking into hospitals known for revision surgery and ended up having surgery at ㄱㅇㅅ Plastic Surgery.
At first, I had everything removed and underwent surgery using autologous costal cartilage. I think the crooked nasal bridge was corrected. But the nostril asymmetry got worse, to the point where it was noticeable even from the front. People around me could all tell, but the director said it would get better, so I trusted him. I kept explaining to people around me that it was because it hadn’t been long since surgery, and I endured it.
But even after 6 months, it was the same. That was when I realized something had gone wrong and requested an AS revision. They said using ear cartilage could make it better, so I had a second surgery.
When the splint was removed, it seemed even worse again... From that point, my trust in the director started to break. When I went for follow-ups, he only said the surgery went well. When I told him I thought the asymmetry had gotten worse, only then did he compare the before-and-after photos and say, “Oh, you’re right?” He also didn’t remember any of the conversations we had...
He just kept saying to come back in 1 month, come back in 3 months, and it was so frustrating. But I had paid as much as 15 million won for the surgery, so I couldn’t afford to go to another hospital. Thinking this was truly the last time, I earnestly begged the director and had a third surgery.
This time, I had surgery focused only on correcting the asymmetry, without using any materials. And now it has been 3 months, but it has gotten worse again.
Suddenly, the skin on my nose started to become indented, so I separately went to a dermatology clinic, paid about 600,000 won, got regeneration/acupuncture treatment, and recovered to some extent. I also developed an incision scar from the surgery, so I’m continuing dermatologic treatment...
When the director saw the indented skin, he only said things like, “Why is this happening?” and “This shouldn’t happen,” so I just went to a dermatology clinic and got treated myself. Later, when he saw that I had gone to dermatology separately for treatment, he seemed displeased. I’m not sure if it was because he felt sorry... I don’t really know. Anyway.
The issue is correction of the nostril asymmetry. I wondered if maybe scar tissue was the problem, so I asked the director, but he said he doesn’t use scar injections. So I went to another hospital again and got scar injections twice for about 1 million won. They did have some effect. But since the area is inside the nose, I was worried that getting more might possibly cause skin depression, so I stopped for now.
I also wondered if laser treatment might work, so I paid about 600,000 won and received laser treatment, but I couldn’t tell whether it had any effect or not... (Considering the cost... the effect was minimal, so I didn’t continue.)
The director seems to be thinking about another surgery, but honestly, to put it bluntly, for the person operating, once the surgery is done, it’s over. But for the person receiving surgery, recovering while maintaining a social life during the recovery period is really hard... People around me are worried too, and I can’t even bring myself to say I’m having another surgery...
So I’m living while wearing a mask and covering it as much as possible... The person at the desk says they’ll ask the director and contact me, but every time they forget, I wait, then I end up contacting them first to make an appointment... Now I’m angry.
Still, I trusted the director and had surgery three times, but now both my body and mind are completely exhausted... Honestly, I don’t think it will improve even if I have it done one more time. I don’t trust it anymore. But when I visit the hospital and see people having consultations and people getting surgery, I wonder if I’m the only one like this. Did other people turn out well? I got curious.

I came here and reached 6 surgeries too haha I’m jealous. And as I watched the video, the director said, “I want to keep playing a role that can be help and light for people struggling because of revision surgery.” I like things that shine too haha
