Hi everyone I had surgery with silicone + donated costal cartilage + cartilage tying + bulbous nose correction. The doctor said that during my first surgery, they only inserted silicone, but it seemed not to suit my nasal tip, so I had a second surgery like that. But it doesn’t suit my image, and the foreign-body sensation is too severe, so I’m thinking of having it removed after 6 months. I’m only 3 weeks post-op, but... I have some questions, so I’d like to get answers here..
1. Do they normally shave down the bone a little before putting in silicone..? I heard that they shave the bone a little so the silicone won’t move. If I have it removed because of this, will a step-off deformity form..? I was told they didn’t shave my bone, but for everyone here, are there clinics that shave it and clinics that don’t..? 2. I was told they didn’t touch my septum, (according to the doctor) because my septum itself is too small, and since they were going to use donated costal cartilage, they said they would try operating without touching it.. Of course, they won’t know for sure until they open the nose, but if the septum wasn’t touched, would the chance of returning to my original nose be higher..? 3. If cartilage tying was done, will it be hard to return to my original nose..? I had bulbous nose correction, but since my skin is thick, the bulbous shape only became very, very slightly slimmer.. honestly, there’s almost no difference..
They used donated costal cartilage because my skin is thick and doesn’t stretch well, and they said that if they used only ear cartilage or septal cartilage, the nasal tip would end up dropping again.. When I saw my original nose from the side, my nasal tip was already pretty, so I said I didn’t want it raised too much, but it turned out higher than I expected It really doesn’t suit my image.. I want to remove it quickly Will I be able to go back to my soft, cute bulbous nose again...?
