I’ve been going around for consultations about complete nose implant removal. They said that for removing the nasal silicone, removing the ear cartilage from the nasal tip, if the nasal support strut is bent, if there is a step-off with the nasal bridge, they reinforce with AlloDerm; and if there is nasal tip depression, they use autologous dermis, harvested from the waist or flank, to reinforce it. They say that if autologous dermis is used, a 4-5 cm scar remains on the body, but I had never thought about that, so I’m a bit confused. If autologous dermis is harvested from areas like that, how long would the scar last? Would it be impossible to harvest from behind the ear or somewhere else? My body scars easily, so I’m really worried.
