I’m bringing a 7-month review after double-jaw surgery + facial contouring surgery with Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Dental Hospital. I had suffered for a long time from temporomandibular joint disc problems caused by malocclusion and from symptoms where my jaw would often dislocate. My jaw was often uncomfortable even while eating or talking, and as the discomfort increasingly affected my daily life, I eventually decided to have surgery. The biggest reason was that I wanted to resolve functional problems rather than simply improve my appearance. It has now been half a year since the surgery, and I’m in my 7th month. The discomfort and worries I felt at first have almost disappeared. The temporomandibular joint pain and sounds are completely gone, and the discomfort when eating has improved a lot, so I’m much more comfortable than before. People around me also say my face looks much softer and more natural, so I’ve gained a lot of confidence. These days, there’s almost nothing special I need to pay attention to, and the only slightly bothersome thing is having to wear elastics consistently! But as I feel my occlusion becoming more and more stable, I’m continuing to manage it diligently!! Above all, I think the biggest change is that the thought of being uncomfortable because of my jaw has disappeared from my daily life!.
