Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

I used to hate taking photos, but I changed after double-jaw surgery (7…

In January of this year, I had surgery performed by Director Kim Jong-yoon at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. I had severe malocclusion since I was young, so it was very hard to chew properly with my front teeth. To chew with my front teeth, I had to forcefully put strength into my jaw, and because of that, I naturally ended up barely using my front teeth. Maybe because of that, I felt like my teeth were gradually getting weaker, and even simply eating became stressful. As I went through adolescence, I also started caring a lot about my appearance. But I really hated it when people around me teased me or talked about my jaw by giving me nicknames. I hated being photographed, and I hated it when someone looked straight at me from the side, so I became afraid of people’s gazes. As that kept building up, my self-esteem dropped to rock bottom. I hated living like this so much that I decided I needed to have surgery, even though I was scared. After deciding to have double-jaw surgery, I started looking into several hospitals. At first, like many people, I considered plastic surgery clinics too, but when I looked up reviews, many people said that for functional problems like a protruding lower jaw or malocclusion, oral and maxillofacial surgery was definitely the right choice. Since the biggest reason I decided on surgery was to resolve my malocclusion, improving my appearance was of course important, but I wanted to go to a hospital that would properly address the functional aspect. So I decided to go in the direction of oral and maxillofacial surgery rather than plastic surgery. After that, I continued looking into various hospitals and carefully checked reviews, and among them, EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was the hospital that the most people seemed to have visited. There were also so many good reviews. Since it was a major surgery, I was honestly very anxious, but I thought that if this was a hospital so many people trusted and chose, I could safely entrust myself to them too. That is how I ultimately decided to have surgery at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Summary of my 6-month recovery process after double-jaw surgery Month 1 1. The swelling had definitely gone down a lot compared with right after surgery. 2. The inner cheeks inside my mouth were swollen, so food got stuck easily and brushing my teeth was a little uncomfortable. 3. People around me did not notice a huge change, but many reacted by saying my “vibe had changed.” 4. I was recovering while looking forward to the changes at month 3 that people talked about in reviews. Month 2 1. Only slight swelling remained around my nose and mouth, and almost everything else had recovered. 2. My friends praised me a lot, saying my face looked completely natural and had become much smaller than before surgery. 3. I was happy that I no longer had to cover my jaw when looking in the mirror. 4. Orthodontic treatment was a little uncomfortable, but feeling my bite gradually aligning accurately was an experience I had never had in my life. 5. Right after surgery, it was so hard that I seriously regretted it and thought, why did I do this, but now I am truly convinced I was right to do it. Month 3 1. Once it really reached 3 months, it looked so natural that I forgot I had surgery. 2. Only the braces and slight swelling around my mouth remained. 3. I was a little careful when eating tough or hard foods, but there were no major problems. 4. The jaw that used to especially protrude in my side profile disappeared, so I became so much more psychologically comfortable. 5. There was still a little swelling left, so I looked forward even more to how I would look after month 6. 6. I was so satisfied that I would want to tell anyone with a lower-face complex to definitely try it. Months 4-5 1. It settled so naturally that people seeing me for the first time would have no idea I had surgery. 2. Friends I met after a long time said my face looked better, but they did not know exactly what had changed (which is a plus). 3. According to reviews, swelling can continue to go down little by little for up to 1 year, so there are still changes left. 4. My orthodontic treatment is also continuing, so I am looking forward to things gradually getting even better. 5. Before surgery, I used to go around trying to cover my lower face somehow, but now I feel confident even if someone looks at me. 6. I actively recommend double-jaw surgery to friends around me who are thinking about it, saying it is difficult but that it is worth that much. Month 6 1. The last swelling around my mouth had almost all gone down, so my lip line became much more natural. 2. I would still like it to become a little slimmer, but I am fully satisfied with how I look now. 3. When I look at photos from before surgery, I am shocked because I look like a completely different person lol. 4. The wounds inside my mouth from orthodontic treatment are a little hard to deal with, but compared with the surgery process, they are nothing. 5. I am looking forward to my face gradually improving even more, so I am taking good care of myself. Currently month 7 Now I barely even remember my old face. My current face feels so familiar and comfortable. In the early days after surgery, I used to touch my changed jaw every day in amazement and be surprised while looking at my side profile in the mirror, but now this natural appearance has become part of me and part of my everyday life. Every time people around me say I have become much better-looking or that I have changed, I feel good haha. Even people who used to see me often now say they do not remember my old face and tell me the surgery really turned out well. Whenever that happens, I also say that among all the choices I have made in my life, the best one was having double-jaw surgery at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The difficult memories from right after surgery are now gradually becoming faint. That is how satisfied I am with how I look now, and I am living happily. Double-jaw surgery is a difficult process, but I think that once you get through it, it comes back to you like a truly big gift in your life. If you have major concerns because of your lower face, I hope you make the decision and try it like I did, and I recommend Director Kim Jong-yoon of EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery to everyone reading this.
