Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

7 months after double-jaw surgery at an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic! Recovery process and before/after...

It has already been 7 months since I had double-jaw surgery. Right after surgery, my whole face was swollen and the pain was severe, so each day was difficult, but as time passed, I definitely feel that things have stabilized. Now a lot of the swelling has gone down, so my appearance has become natural, and I have recovered enough that there is no major inconvenience in daily life. The place where I had surgery was an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic, and I had the surgery with Director Kim Jong-yoon. Honestly, double-jaw surgery is such a major surgery that I thought where to have it done was really important, and since it was a clinic I had been watching with interest for a long time, I was able to trust it and choose it. Looking back now, I definitely think the biggest reason was choosing a clinic that is good at double-jaw surgery. To talk about my current recovery status at 7 months, sensation has not completely returned, but not to the extent that it causes inconvenience in daily life, and since I am undergoing orthodontic treatment, there is some slight discomfort from tooth movement. Still, the temporomandibular joint pain I felt before double-jaw surgery and the stress from facial asymmetry have definitely decreased, so my satisfaction is high. The recovery period after double-jaw surgery will differ by person, but in my case, after 3 months there was no major disruption to daily life, and after passing 6 months, I was able to return to an almost natural appearance. Now I’m stable enough to go around without a mask, and people around me say it barely looks like I had surgery. I’m still in the recovery stage, so it doesn’t feel completely natural like before yet, but as time goes on, my facial line is becoming more refined, and I’m looking forward to an even more satisfying result once orthodontic treatment is completed. I hope this helps even a little for people considering surgery.

This is a surgical review pursuing natural beauty.
