Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic / Director Kim Jong-yoon / 3 months post-op ^^ The reason I decided to have surgery was that I went to a local dental clinic for dental treatment, and the dentist recommended it, saying that after having double jaw surgery himself, daily life became much more comfortable~ After hearing that, I started looking up many reviews of double jaw surgery and facial contouring surgery, and I realized that the reviews for this oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic were definitely better than those for other hospitals, so I finally decided to have surgery here! At 1 month post-op, I had recovered enough to eat porridge without blending it, and as the amount I could eat increased and I gradually increased my activity, it became much easier to get through than before. Of course, I did get hungry often, but I supplemented with snacks like ice cream, castella, pudding, and soft tofu, and instead of ramen porridge, I mixed an egg into ramen soup powder, which went down easily and tasted good haha. Besides walking, I did simple strength exercises at home, and I could feel the muscle I had lost before surgery gradually coming back~~ I also kept doing temporomandibular joint exercises, so I could fit about two fingers in, and the swelling was going down very slowly, making me feel that I was recovering enough that I no longer needed to wear a mask^^ At 2 months post-op, I started eating a variety of foods and my weight began to go up a little^^;; However, since the muscle I had lost right after surgery was still gone, I started working out at the gym, but it strained my knee and I even had to receive hospital treatment... So for those who plan to start exercising after double jaw surgery or facial contouring surgery, it is important not to overdo it too much in the beginning like I did! For food, I mainly ate soft things that could be easily mashed by hand, like tofu, eggs, fish, and bread, and for foods that I could try chewing little by little, I cut them into small pieces and tried them~ A lot of the facial swelling had gone down, but it still felt awkward, there was still some sagging skin, and the bruising had not completely disappeared, so I was worried at times. Still, I kept managing it consistently, reminding myself that I was still in the recovery stage! And now, somehow, 3 months have already passed quickly(?) so chewing food has become somewhat possible, and I can eat foods that are not too hard or tough^^ But because I neglected exercise due to knee pain, I ended up gaining fat..;; hehe After double jaw surgery, I really felt that doing an appropriate amount of exercise alongside recovery is necessary. However, as a personal recommendation, I think it would be better to avoid exercises that strain the knees, such as squats. My pronunciation has also been getting clearer little by little, and the swelling and sagging in my face have noticeably improved, so social life became possible. As I started working again, I felt like I was gradually returning to daily life~^^ After having the surgery this time, I hope people looking up reviews of double jaw surgery and facial contouring surgery will keep in mind that these surgeries are not simply for improving appearance, but also bring functional recovery at the same time! The recovery process varies greatly from person to person, but like me, you may experience gradual improvement as you pass 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months post-op^^ Fighting to all prospective double jaw surgery patients and to those who have already had surgery~ Thank you, Director Kim at the oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic~ haha
