I posted before about going for consultations~ and as promised, I brought my surgery review! I have a lot to say, so it’s really long.. sorry in advance I hope my detailed review helps someone!!! (First, I lived with silicone + septal cartilage for over 10 years before getting revision surgery, and my biggest goal was removing the silicone. So I also decided to remove the 4-5-year-old? silicone in my chin at the same time while I was at it! There are some people who do the first-stage silicone removal surgery first, then schedule the second-stage buttock dermis harvesting + nose surgery, but I was short on time, so I did both the first and second surgeries in one day!! Just for reference!!) -On the day of surgery, they said surgery was at 12:30, so I arrived around 12 (The hospital is ㅂㅂ in Suwon, famous for autologous dermis!) Changed clothes - washed my face - took photos - consultation with the director! (He told me things like post-op precautions and discussed how the nose surgery would be done. Since I was removing silicone and getting revision surgery with dermis, he said it probably couldn’t become as high as I hoped or turn into a completely new nose.. I guess he was lowering my expectations? But my main goal was ‘let’s get this time-bomb silicone out of my body,’ so I didn’t have much greed for cosmetic purposes, so ok. Instead, it might just have been my imagination, but I told him while showing photos that I felt I had developed a slight contracture compared with after my first surgery, and he said he would put pearl dermis in the nasal tip and columella area and that I could expect some effect from that, so I felt reassured haha) After the consultation, they quickly gave me a buttock injection, I think it was antibiotics and painkillers or something, and while removing my nose hair, they also connected the IV 1. First, lie face down and expose the butt,, (they harvest dermis from the buttock!) Then the director came in, disinfected everything~ did the design? and put me briefly to sleep with sedation anesthesia. At that point, local anesthesia on the buttock + surgery started. When I woke up groggily, the buttock surgery was in progress. If you listen to the radio they had on, the butt surgery is over. Near the very end, maybe the local anesthesia was wearing off, so when they were suturing, it stung a liiittle bit, but it was tolerable! 1.5. When the buttock surgery is over, they treat the area and apply surgical glue to the sutured part. Once it all dries, they tape it, and I went to the bathroom once. I think I also gargled before going back in 2. Went back into the operating room and started the second-stage nose surgery Same thing: disinfected, designed, then they put me to sleep. When I woke up, the surgery was in progress. When I woke up during the buttock surgery, I didn’t think anything of it, but the nose surgery was a bit scary. I had briefly seen a surgery video in the past while scrolling and immediately turned it off maybe that came to mind..? Anyway••• I could hear sounds like the dermis being designed and cut.. They placed something like moist gauze on my lips so my mouth wouldn’t dry out? and told me to breathe only through my mouth now.. Then it was a sequence of lifting the nose, removing the silicone, inserting dermis, and so on,,, It was so scary, but suddenly someone held my hand I’d seen in reviews that the manager holds your hand during surgery, and since my eyes were closed I couldn’t see, but I think it was probably the manager That small touch made me feel reassured And somehow the nose was sutured and finished too 3. Lastly, chin silicone removal.. They put me to sleep again, and when I woke up, the chin surgery was in progress.. It was done through an intraoral incision! And like that, all the surgeries were over..!! When the surgery ends, the director shows you the removed silicone pieces.. I finally felt like I was free from silicone.. Anyway, after surgery I rested in the recovery room, and the manager even bought me porridge And when I was about to go home, it overlapped with rush hour and everything, so thanks to the manager’s consideration, I stayed one night in the recovery room! Coming back to the hospital the next day for disinfection would have been awful, so I was so grateful~ I ate the porridge at the hospital, gargled diligently, and rested so well! I have to be very careful so the buttock doesn’t open up, but what’s amazing is that my buttock, nose, and chin don’t hurt at all..? Especially because there wasn’t a bunch of cotton packed in my nose like with silicone surgery, I could breathe through my nose so well even on the same day, and it was comfortable In the morning, I woke up and the director checked the surgical progress and treated the areas! The manager even bought me coffee.. a hospital that gives generously lololol Usually, everyone falls asleep and then wakes up after surgery in the recovery room, right Here, they do brief sedation anesthesia and proceed with surgery under local anesthesia, so it was scary, but for me, hearing the director’s voice throughout the whole surgery actually reassured me These days there are people who don’t wake up after anesthesia, and there are also many cases where substitute surgery is suspected The reason I chose this hospital was because I really liked that one director does everything, and I think it’s really, really good that everything from surgery to disinfection goes through the director’s hands! There are things like the hospital motto? posted here and there throughout the hospital, and I think there’s a reason the director, manager, and nurses are all kind and good people.. Anyway, I’ll attach the pre-op photos and photos from post-op day 2 and wrap up~! See you again in my 1-month review!! (One good thing about autologous dermis: the nasal splint is removed quickly; the chin fixation stays on longer..)
