Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Hello I had two-jaw surgery and 2 types of facial contouring without preoperative orthodontics on June 9, and I'm writing a review from the day of surgery to one month afterward! Since I was young, I had severe malocclusion, and even at the orthodontic clinic I visited, the doctor said it was a surgical case and that even if I had orthodontic treatment, I would need surgery once I became an adult. Grasping at straws, I underwent orthodontic treatment for nearly 10 years from age 8, and during orthodontic treatment my lower jaw temporarily went in, but only briefly. As I grew, my jaw returned again, and watching the asymmetry and protruding lower jaw become worse, I think that was when I started considering surgery. My parents and I thought I wasn't going to become a celebrity, so maybe I should just live with this face, but my upper front teeth, which touched my lower teeth, kept chipping, and when I went to the dentist to repair the chipped front teeth, I was refused several times because it was an occlusion problem. Also, I usually felt a lot of discomfort from asymmetry, a long chin, a dish-like side profile, and a sunken midface, so I decided to have surgery. I went to consultations at several places, but the reasons I had surgery with Director Lee Seok-jae at Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery were the clean hospital facilities, systematic process, the consultation manager who is still kind even now (the best!!), and decisively, the director's realistic diagnosis without exaggeration. I proceeded with two-jaw surgery (IVRO) without preoperative orthodontics + 2 types of facial contouring (square jaw, chin). To be honest, since I was already doing it, I thought about doing my cheekbones too, but when the director said it would be better not to for these reasons, my trust shot up, and I think I became certain about my earlier decision haha Also, the fact that they perform only one two-jaw surgery per day and disclose operating room CCTV was a big advantage. — Day of surgery Before surgery, I visited once in advance to make a wafer, have blood tests, and undergo internal medicine tests, so I arrived at 9:30, had my orthodontic retainer from another clinic removed right away, listened to the director's explanation, and went into the operating room around 10. I lay on the operating table and heard them say they would put anesthetic through the IV, and then the surgery was over and I was sitting on the bed in the inpatient room. Because I had stayed up all night the previous night, I kept dozing and don't remember well, but they said you have to exhale well to get the anesthetic out of your body, so my parents said they kept waking me up a lot. It wasn't until evening that I came to my senses a little, but breathing was so hard that the nurses on duty took great care of me and looked after me so well!! At dawn, I couldn't breathe well, so I was scared to fall asleep and kept dozing off and waking up at 10-minute intervals. ㅡ Day 2 after surgery The blood drains and urinary catheter were removed, and I was able to move around. When breathing was hard, walking helped a lot! And I put water and New Care into a sauce bottle and drank it. After repeating walking & breathing & intake, before I knew it, night came and they gave me discharge instructions! When I told them I had struggled all through the night, the nurse also put in Otrivin for me and took good care of me. I sometimes saw people having surgery alone, but kind nurses take care of you, so I don't think you need to worry about that. I want to thank the nurses on duty once again!! ㅡ Day 3 after surgery It was the day I was discharged. I listened to the precautions, received swelling laser treatment, and was discharged. I needed many things and couldn't talk, so I thought going home would only be difficult, but once I got home I felt so much more at ease, so it was actually really nice. After coming home, I think I just leaned on the sofa and slept all day. ㅡ One week There was less pain than when I had orthodontic treatment before, and the swelling got worse day by day. My face felt like it was about to burst from the swelling, and because the medicine was powdered, it was really hard because of the powder getting stuck in my teeth and the disgusting smell of the medicine. After coming home, I rested well for two days and started walking outside from Friday! Since I wasn't eating anything, I felt like I would really collapse if I went alone, so I made sure to walk with a guardian, and I visited the hospital to check the surgical progress and receive disinfection. ㅡ Week 2 Since I ate only liquids every day, my stamina dropped so much that I was afraid I might faint on the next hospital visit. To build up my stamina, I spent my days eating as much as possible and walking a lot, and I endured each day with the hope that once the stitches were removed, I would no longer have to eat nauseating liquids Removing the stitches hurt a lot, so I was dripping with cold sweat. From this point, I could attach and remove the wafer, so on the way home I ate mango shaved ice and shed a few tears.. ㅡ Week 3 I ate meals with soft tofu, steamed eggs, and various finely cut noodles, and with mouth exercises, walking, and warm compresses, each day seemed to pass in an instant. I did mouth exercises for at least an hour every day, and the more I walked, the more I could visibly see the swelling change, so I walked every day hoping it would go down quickly. There was no hospital visit in week 3, and whenever I had anything uncomfortable, I sent KakaoTalk messages to the manager. She responded right away every time, so I was able to recover well without feeling anxious! ㅡ One month I visited the hospital, had a progress check and consultation with the director, then removed the wafer and started orthodontic treatment. I was so, so, so happy that I could chew from this point. These days, people around me often say I look kind and that my face has gotten much smaller. I still mainly eat soft foods, and my occlusion doesn't fit perfectly yet, but I feel like I've resolved a long-standing complex, so even if I went back, I think I would have the surgery again!

This review is a surgery review pursuing a natural yet glamorous look.
