Since I was young, I was always bothered by my noticeable facial asymmetry. I spent a long time wondering whether or not to get double jaw surgery, but this year, for some reason, I strongly felt that I had to do it. So this time I made the decision without hesitation. I naturally decided on this place. On the day of surgery, anesthesia was done quickly, and the surgery felt like it was over in an instant. I heard that breathing could be difficult because it was the IVRO method, but it was better than I expected. By evening, the medication helped open my nose too, so I was able to fall asleep comfortably. The first few days of recovery were not easy. On day 2, after the tube was removed, it was hard to breathe for a while, but by the afternoon I felt much better, and on day 3 the swelling and discomfort hit their peak. The medication also did not suit my mouth, so I struggled, but eventually it all passed. From day 4, my lips started moving little by little, and breathing became much easier. On days 6 to 7, the swelling was still bothering me, and I also had tooth pain, but I didn’t feel very hungry. Around one week later, I slowly began to feel that I was recovering. In week 2, I had the stitches removed and learned how to put on the elastics. Removing the stitches was better than I expected, and there were 4 elastics, but because it was my first time, it took quite a while. I thought by this point I would be able to eat something, but that wasn’t the case. I had hopes for a moment, but quickly accepted reality. In week 3, when I looked in the mirror, my facial symmetry seemed okay, but in photos it still felt asymmetric. As the gum swelling went down, the screws protruded slightly and hurt the inside of my mouth, but it did not greatly interfere with daily life. Overall, the discomfort decreased and I felt like I was recovering. And now I’m at 1 month. These days, pimples have started coming up on my face, and since they don’t calm down easily, I do think my skin has become a little sensitive. After about a month, I can feel my body gradually recovering, and now I think only things getting better are left.
