I had a large snaggletooth on the left side, so when my mouth was dry and I smiled, it was uncomfortable to the point that my lip wouldn’t come down. Also, my lower teeth were crooked in a zigzag, so covering my mouth when I smiled had become a habit. After entering university, I made up my mind and told my parents, and they readily said they would let me do it, so I looked for a decent clinic nearby and went for a consultation right away. What I considered most important was “accessibility.” Honestly, I thought the dentist’s skill was important for orthodontic treatment, but I also needed to be able to go consistently every month for it to finish quickly. I had seen someone around me not go often and end up spending years just on orthodontic treatment, so I looked for places near a bus stop or station. Yonsei Vant Dental Clinic was close, about a 3–5 minute walk from the Guwol-dong bus stop, so even in midsummer or midwinter, going for checkups wasn’t difficult. On the day I went for the consultation, I decided right away to receive orthodontic treatment, so I got a bit of a discount. Also, since it was paid in installments, I don’t think it was a big burden. The space inside my mouth is on the narrow side, so I decided to have 3 wisdom teeth extracted, and the expected period was about a year and a half. In reality, I think it took about 1 year and 8 months. The director and the dental hygienists were all kind and nice. However, since everyone was wearing masks, it was a little hard to understand what they were saying When I went with an appointment, I usually went in right away without waiting long, and although the waiting area wasn’t extremely spacious, it was an orthodontic specialty dental clinic, so there weren’t many people waiting, which was fine. I was a university student then, so I usually visited during weekday afternoons, so it might be different on weekends or at night! During treatment, they also explained well what they were doing and any additional costs. If you live in Incheon and are looking for an orthodontic dental clinic, I recommend it!
